Everyone Loves Cupcakes...But It's Week 3...No More Kiddy Table Anymore...
So here we are the Big Ten/Pac-10 match up we've been waiting for
Oregon and Purdue!!!!
oh yeah and there's this little game in L.A. too
13 Kansas over 19 South Florida
I'll be the first to admit that until the Orange Bowl I had no faith in Kansas (but my bank account is sure glad that I changed my mind before that game...thank you Vegas!). This is really Kansas' first test of this young season and I like their rivals Missouri they will dispatch of the challenge fairly easily. I think Oklahoma and Texas' run as the class of the Big-12 is coming to and end, and Kansas and Missouri are looking to take over. A win in Florida on Saturday will go a big way for Mangino and his Jayhawks.
Purdue over 16 Oregon
This game will help the Big Ten salvage a little respect on Saturday (more on why a little bit later). Oregon has by all means demolished the opponents they faced this season but they have had the HUGE advantage of Autzen Stadium, which is what they don't have this weekend. Purdue crushed Northern Colorado last week and they will be amped to play a Top-25 team this week. Look for this one to be close, but in the end a younger Oregon squad should falter in it's first road test of the season
Stanford over TCU
This game will be a great match-up. TCU, a perennial BCS Buster hope full, and Stanford the up and coming darling of the Pac-10. Jim Harbaugh will have his boys ready to roll as they take on the Horned Frogs this weekend. In my bold prediction of the season Stanford will finish in at least the "others receiving votes category", a bowl win, and at least 8 wins (including bowl)
Notre Dame over Michigan
In a classic toss-up I have no idea who to pick in this game. So i'll sum up this pick in one word..."RU-DY, RU-DY, RU-DY"
UCLA over 18 BYU
There are a few reasons for this pick. 1) BYU got very lucky last week, not just on that call, but blocking the kick in general. 2) UCLA played their hearts out in the second half against Tennessee and that should continue to this game. And the third reason I like UCLA is that they helped me look like a genius in week one so i'll go with them again.
1 USC over 5 Ohio State
Here it is...the game of the week. The major reason that i'm taking USC is because if Beanie Wells is not 100% the hits that Brian Cushing and Rey Maualuga and the rest of the USC defense will lay on the OSU offense will rattle them and will cause them to play scared. I expect USC to lay a smack down on OSU just like LSU and Florida have the past two years. If Beanie were healthy and this game were in Columbus maybe i'd feel differently. But there is a perfect storm here for USC to put a clamp on the #1 ranking until Oregon and ASU come to L.A.
Balls To The Wall Call of the Week:
