With the 2010-11' NBA season's midpoint right around the corner, there has been quite a few injuries suffered by key players that could potentially be very costly for organizations, such as the Dallas Mavericks.

Caron Butler left Saturday's loss, to the Milwaukee Bucks, in the middle of the first quarter because of an injury to his right knee.  On top of that, that Mavericks have to deal with a roughed up Dirk Nowitzki who has missed the last three games due to a knee injury of his own.

There has also been a few new rumors circulating recently, surrounding Carmelo Anthony and Michael Jordan, as well as the Cavaliers' possible interest in Washington's Andray Blatche.

The following slides exhibit the most recent injury updates and trade rumors around the NBA.

How Serious Is Caron Butler's Injury?

Caron Butler injured his right knee during the first quarter of the Saturday night loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.  Now two of Dallas' top players are sidelined with an injury, with Dirk Nowitzki sitting the last four games with a sprained right knee.

Based on Butler's symptoms, is it likely that he suffered at least a partial tear of the patellar tendon in his right knee, which would keep him on the bench for the next two months.  It his injury is a bit worse than first anticipated, and he has a full tear, than he would miss the remainder of the 2010-11' NBA season.

Andre Iguodala has been hindered by right Achilles tendinitis all season and the Philadelphia 76ers have decided to give him some extended rest.  Iguodala is expected to be sidelined from all on-court activities until January 10th, the earliest.

Despite having a lousy 13-20 record and suffering multiple injuries, the Philadelphia 76ers are only a half game out of eighth place in the Eastern Conference.

Doug Collins told the Philadelphia Inquirer this past Saturday, "What we did was, when he went and got a second opinion, both doctors were in agreement that if he's going to take some time off, give it a significant amount of time.  What happened last time was he took seven or eight days off and he was feeling much better, [but] he came back and didn't get it out of his system."

Anderson Varejao suffered a broken cheekbone on Wednesday night against the Charlotte Bobcats.  Varejao was sat during Cleveland's home game on Sunday, against the Dallas Mavericks, but is expected to return to action next Wednesday against Toronto when the swelling on his face goes down so he can be fitted for a facemask.

Carmelo Anthony Doesn't Want to Play For Michael Jordan's Bobcats

There were recently rumors going around claiming that Michael Jordan, current owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, was interested in acquiring Carmelo Anthony in a future trade.  But, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports has reported that Carmelo has informed Jordan that he is not interested in signing an extension and playing for the organization.

The Bobcats didn't think they had much of a chance but took a shot anyways since Anthony is one of Jordan's top endorsers when is comes to his product line.

Bobcat fans should be excited to know that Jordan is going after the right people as owner.  Although he didn't get the job done, at least he took a shot at making his team a whole lot better.

Bob Finnan of the News-Herald has reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers have been asking about Andray Blatche.

In 27 games so far this season, Blatche has averaged 16.4 PPG, 8.1 RPG, 1.7 APG, and 1.40 SPG in 35.6 MPG.  Blatche has proven that he can be quite productive if given the shot.

If the Cavaliers are indeed interested in the six year pro, a trade could happen very soon since Cleveland has some valuable trade weapons such as Anderson Varejao, J.J. Hickson and Daniel Gibson.

Jordan Farmar, point-guard for the New Jersey Nets, has revealed to Al Iannazzone of the Bergen Record that his MRI discovered a bone bruise and a slight meniscus tear.

Farmar has already missed the last two games against the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves, but is expecting to return by Wednesday when the Nets take on the Bulls once again.

During Farmar's absence, rookie Ben Uzoh has seen increased time.  If Farmar is to miss anymore time Uzoh will continue to see his minutes.

Jason Quick of the Oregonian has reported that Portland Blazers' Center Joel Przybilla will not play today against the Houston Rockets and but is expected to travel with the team during their upcoming three-game road trip.  Pryzbilla has missed Portland's last six games because of a sprained ankle.

He was expected to return today, against Houston, but was forced to sit out due to some minor setbacks. There is a chance that Przybilla could return within one of the next three games since he is in fact traveling with the club.

Dirk Nowitzki has missed Dallas' last four games, including today's outing against the Cleveland Cavaliers, due to an injury to his knee.  Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News has quoted Nowitzki as saying "hopefully...(this) week sometime I'll be able to go."

Nowitzki is expected to return during one of Dallas' next three home games this week.  Brian Cardinal has been replacing Dirk during his absence.
