Oakland Raiders: It's in the Can...Who's Next?
When watching an episode of America's Game, the Raiders back in the 80s had an interesting way of looking at losses. Once the game was done, they'd say, "It's in the can." Like a bad clip of film, or in the trash, simply, next day, was a new day. You could dwell on the past, but it wouldn't do anything for you. Best to simply look forward.
For the Raiders, that day couldn't come soon enough. The next opponent, as well, is looking for anything tangible to tie hope to. Kansas City, beaten by the Patriots on the opening week, will be hosting the Raiders, in the opening game for the Arrowhead faithful.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
To that extent, there's a few things to note. First of all, Brodie Croyle, who is STILL supposed to be the QB of the future, is out again, with a shoulder injury. The running game of Larry Johnson and Jamaar Charles, both ran decently, but neither were breakouts. And in the waning moments, Damon Huard missed a tying pass on fourth down, sealing a win.
Result, was KC missing a chance to add insult to injury....after all, it was the Chiefs who sent shockwaves throughout the league knocking out Tom Brady.
For the Raiders, this could mean trouble. They've shown problems keeping the pocket solid, so extra help might be needed to keep Russell from going down repeatedly.
McFadden, if the shoulder injury is nothing to worry about, might have problems escaping the pocket. And our Defense still needs to learn to stop the run....and get some returns on all the money we threw at DeAngelo Hall.
Last season, both games were settled by less than five points. I can't imagine this game will be much different, as both teams look to even up at 1-1.
More to follow, stay tuned.
