Official: Arsenal Striker Carlos Vela May Go On Loan In January

...........Dec 31, 2010

There has been a lot of speculation about Arsenal's future young Mexican forward Carlos Vela. There were rumours about Vela being sold to Spanish Premier League Club Valencia, but these rumours have since been put to bed as Arsene Wenger and Vela's manager deny any deals with Valencia regarding a transfer deal.

Carlos Vela has denied rumours that he is going to leave Arsenal. Carlos Vela’s agent Eduardo Hernández denied that his client wants to leave Arsenal but confessed the Mexican wants more minutes just like any other player.

But the Arsenal Boss may yet have plans for him, “Not sell him, loan him out because he needs to play. He is a top quality player and at the moment we have too many strikers."

Wenger has not ruled out the possibility of a loan deal for Vela in the January transfer window, as he admits he may allow Carlos Vela to go out on loan in January.

A loan deal seems the best thing for both Vela and Arsenal at the moment.

The striker has had limited opportunities this season and the manager feels a short-term deal to get him playing time is the best option. Vela is a very talented young player but he has not had many chances at first team play with the abundance of strikers that Arsenal has.

Vela has only made three starts and eight substitute appearances so far this season.

Vela needs more first team playing time, but with summer signer Marouane Chamakh performing so well in attack, Robin van Persie returning to full fitness and Nicklas Bendtner returning to goal scoring form, Vela has fallen in the pecking order.

“Some offensive players don’t play games like Carlos Vela. If he can get games somewhere else we will loan him out,” said the Frenchman.

Many Arsenal fans believe that Vela is far too talented to not be fully utilised but do not want to see him sold to another club. A loan deal would keep Vela playing regularly so that he can continue to progress while keeping him available for Arsenal to use in the future.

“He does not get the games he deserves. He has an opportunity that I let him go somewhere,” Arsene has said. "We don't like to see such talent go to waste."
