
NFL Pro Bowl Rosters: Arian Foster, Cameron Wake, and The First Time Pro Bowlers
As the NFL 2011 Pro Bowl heads back to Hawaii, many players will head there for the first time.
Out of the 82 players elected to the Pro Bowl this year, 21 of them haven't been chosen before.
Some of the newcomers are young up and coming players, even rookies. Others though are veterans that have worked hard their entire careers to achieve the honor.
New faces is one of the few things that makes the Pro Bowl watchable.
Here are the 2011 Pro Bowl newcomers and what they did to get there:
AFC: Arian Foster (Running Back)

Resume:
- 1,436 rushing yards
- 4.9 yards per carry
- 14 rushing touchdowns
- 64 receptions
- 594 receiving yards
- 2 receiving touchdowns
After Ben Tate went down with a broken ankle in the pre-season opener, Arian Foster took advantage of his opportunity as he's led the league in rushing from week one.
AFC: Jamaal Charles (Running Back)

Resume:
- 1,380 rushing yards
- 6.4 yards per carry
- 4 rushing touchdowns
- 43 receptions
- 455 receiving yards
- 3 receiving touchdowns
Jamaal Charles is second in the league in rushing despite serving as the Kansas City Chiefs change-of-pace back for most of the season.
AFC: Vonta Leach (Fullback)

Resume:
Vonta Leach paved the way for the NFL's leading rushing in Arian Foster.
Two tight ends, three wide receivers, forget that: Leach is one of the few great designated blockers left at the fullback position in the league.
AFC: Brandon Lloyd (Wide Receiver)

- 1375 receiving yards
- 19.1 yards per reception
- 10 receiving touchdowns
In his first season he even caught for over 800 yards, Brandon Lloyd leads the NFL in receiving yards.
WR: Dwayne Bowe (Wide Receiver)

- 16.3 yards per reception
- 15 receiving touchdowns
Dwayne Bowe leads the league in receiving touchdowns with the next closest receiver being three touchdowns behind him.
AFC: Marcedes Lewis (Tight End)

- 54 receptions
- 674 receiving yards
- 12.5 yards per reception
- 9 receiving touchdowns
This is Marcedes Lewis' first season with over two touchdowns as he finished tied for second among tight ends in the category, only behind Antonio Gates.
AFC: Maurkice Pouncey (Center)

Resume:
Starting since week one, Maurkice Pouncey quickly became the Pittsburgh Steelers' most talented offensive lineman.
He'll help transform a line with a poor reputation into a force soon enough.
AFC: Jason Babin (Defensive End)

- 12.5 sacks
- 2 forced fumbles
Jason Babin recorded more sacks this season than he did in his previous five years in the league.
AFC: Cameron Wake (Outside Linebacker)

The ex-Canadian Football League star Cameron Wake is leading the league in sacks more than doubling his 2009 output.
AFC: Jerod Mayo (Inside Linebacker)

- 1 forced fumble
Coming off an injury plagued season, Jerod Mayo leads the league in tackles with the closest defender 14 take downs behind him.
AFC: Devin McCourty (Cornerback)

- 15 passes defended
- 2 forced fumbles
- 6 interceptions
Devin McCourty has stepped up in his rookie season turning out to be the one cornerback the New England Patriots could rely on as he's second in the league in interceptions.
AFC: Billy Cundiff (Kicker)

Resume:
- 24 field goals made
- 88.9 conversion rate
- 38 touchbacks
Billy Cundiff is in the top 10 in field goal percentage this year, but what put him over the top was that he led the league in touchbacks on kickoffs with the next closest kicker being nine behind.
AFC: Marc Mariani (Kick Returner)

Resume:
- 25.2 yards per kickoff return
- 1 kickoff return touchdown
- 12.9 yards per punt return
- 1 punt return touchdown
Marc Mariani was a seventh round pick people thought Jeff Fisher was just doing a favor to a friend by selecting, but Mariani ended up finishing second in the league in total return yardage.
AFC: Montell Owens (Special Teamer)

Resume:
Montell Owens leads the Jacksonville Jaguars with 18 special teams tackles this season.
He actually had 30 special teams tackles last season and was only elected as a Pro Bowl alternate.
NFC: Matt Ryan (Quarterback)

Resume:
- 26 passing touchdowns
- 3,469 passing yards
- 62.2 completion percentage
- 6.4 yards per completion
- 89.8 passer rating
Matt Ryan led the Atlanta Falcons to an NFC best 12-3 record going into week 17.
NFC: Ovie Mughelli (Fullback)

Resume:
Ovie Mughelli is first and foremost a lead blocker, but he's not 100 percent battering ram like Vonta Leach.
Mughelli is also an effective check down receiver and has over 150 yards from scimmage and a touchdown this season.
NFC: Calvin Johnson (Wide Receiver)

- 1,120 receiving yards
- 14.5 yards per reception

2010 actually hasn't been Calvin Johnson's best season as a pro, but it's the first time he's been elected, even while catching passes from a backup quarterback for most of the year.
NFC: Greg Jennings (Wide Receiver)

Serving as Aaron Rogers primary target, Greg Jennings is tied for second in the league in touchdown catches with NFC Pro Bowl teammate Calvin Johnson.
NFC: Carl Nicks (Offensive Guard)

Resume:
Carl Nicks has started 44 straight games for the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.
He was a major part of an offensive line that only gave up 23 sacks this season.
NFC: Ndamukong Suh (Defensive Tackle)

Resume:
- 60 tackles
- 9 sacks
- 1 forced fumble
Ndamukong Suh came into the NFL with unmatchable expectations, but somehow he managed to do exactly that leading all defensive tackles in sacks.
NFC: Eric Weems (Special Teamer)

Resume:
Eric Weems earned his first trip to Honolulu by leading the Atlanta Falcons with 16 special teams tackles.
He also doubled as a return ace averaging an impressive 27.7 yards per kickoff return.
