NFL Power Rankings Week 17: Focus on the Kansas City Chiefs

Doing power rankings is tough, but because of the limited number of games on an NFL schedule, it's one of the only ways to get an idea for which teams are better than others, accounting for factors other than just their records. 

At my site—www.GuysNation.com—I do a weekly power ranking of all 32 NFL teams.  It's a hugely subjective process in which I account for a team's strength of schedule, margin of victory, good wins and bad losses.

Where do the Kansas City Chiefs rank with a record of 10-5?

Starting in Week 11, the Chiefs have been building up quite a bit of momentum.  Sure, they got a bit derailed in Week 14 by the Chargers, but that loss is discounted by the fact that it was played in San Diego (though it shouldn't be tough to play in southern California in December).  The last two weeks have them right back on track.

First was a victory on the road against the tough St. Louis Rams, who are better than their record (7-8) suggests.  Then they followed it up with a lopsided win at home against the Titans, limiting them to a low scoring output despite Tennessee having some serious weapons (Johnson, Britt and Moss).

Aside from whoever falls into the division lead for the NFC West, the Chiefs haven't beaten anyone who's going to be in the post season, making their record a bit suspect in the eyes of many.  With their coaching staff, their running attack, the playmaking ability of Bowe and Cassell not making too many mistakes this season, I personally think the Chiefs are underrated. 

Where are the Chiefs ranked amongst the 10 win teams?  Did they surpass any of the 11 win teams?  Were any nine win teams ranked better than them?  I take the number of victories into account, but I place a lot of stock in the quality of outcomes.
