Fantasy Football Week 17 Rankings: Top 25 Quarterbacks

Let’s take a look at how I rank the Top 25 quarterbacks for the final week of the regular season:

1. Michael Vick – Philadelphia Eagles – vs. Dallas
2. Peyton Manning – Indianapolis Colts – vs. Tennessee
3. Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers – at Denver
4. Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers – vs. Chicago
5. Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – vs. Tampa Bay
6. Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh Steelers – at Cleveland
7. David Garrard – Jacksonville Jaguars – at Houston
8. Matt Schaub – Houston Texans – vs. Jacksonville
9. Joe Flacco – Baltimore Ravens – vs. Cincinnati
10. Eli Manning – New York Giants – at Washington
11. Matt Cassel – Kansas City Chiefs – vs. Oakland
12. Josh Freeman – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – at New Orleans
13. Jay Cutler – Chicago Bears – at Green Bay
14. Sam Bradford – St. Louis Rams – at Seattle
15. Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons – vs. Carolina
16. Kerry Collins – Tennessee Titans – at Indianapolis
17. Shaun Hill – Detroit Lions – vs. Minnesota

19. Tim Tebow – Denver Broncos – vs. San Diego
20. Chad Henne – Miami Dolphins – at New England
21. John Skelton – Arizona Cardinals – at San Francisco
22. Ryan Fitzpatrick – Buffalo Bills – at New York Jets
23. Stephen McGee – Dallas Cowboys – vs. Philadelphia
24. Carson Palmer – Cincinnati Bengals – at Baltimore
25. Jason Campbell – Oakland Raiders – at Kansas City

Thoughts:

• The Eagles are locked into the playoffs and will be working on a significantly abbreviated week, thanks to their Week 16 game being moved to Tuesday night.  Will the Eagles rest Vick entirely?  Probably not, but I wouldn’t expect him to play the entire game either.  How they fair tonight and if they have a first-round bye clinched could change Vick’s ranking dramatically.
• Not only have the Patriots clinched a playoff spot, but they are locked in to the No. 1 seed in the AFC.  You have to believe that the Patriots are going to take it easy and not keep their foot on the pedal for the entire game.  With your title on the line, it is tough to depend on him.  However, if we get a better idea of his playing time, his ranking could change dramatically.
• After watching Tim Tebow rip apart the Houston Texans secondary in Week 16, David Garrard becomes a lock as a QB1 this week.
• Jon Kitna appears to be out for Week 17, with Stephen McGee likely getting the start in his place.  He only has potential value in two-quarterback formats.
• The Jets have nothing to play for, so while Mark Sanchez looked good in Week 16. It is hard to imagine him playing the entire game, if at all.  Monitor the news, but at this point, I wouldn’t plan on using him in any format.
