Melo is an established superstar and has played well enough this season to earn himself a big contract.

No. 15 is just what a team like the Knicks need to contend during the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.

Despite all these rumors that have been going on since the offseason well into the regular season, Melo has put aside basketball due to the death of his sister, Michelle Anthony.

Anthony's sister passed away due to a pre-existing medical condition. Michelle Anthony leaves behind four children.

It has been reported that Melo will return to the Nuggets after Christmas.

Anthony will be out on Christmas Day against Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder and his status for December 26th against the 76ers is still up in the air.
