Rex Ryan: 10 Questions We'd Love To Ask

Tom KinslowDec 22, 2010

Rex Ryan is back in the news and it's because of videos that surfaced online that are allegedly of his wife Michelle doing things that involve a foot fetish.

The Jets coach is also allegedly in one of the videos and there are a lot of questions that we have for Rex. Some are about football and some are not, but here are 10 things that we'd love to ask the coach.

If you have any questions that I didn't ask, be sure to leave them below.

No. 10: Is LaDainian Tomlinson Out of Gas?

At the beginning of the season, LaDainian Tomlinson got a lot of publicity for his play in the backfield for the Jets.

Tomlinson looked like the player that we saw dominate the league as part of the San Diego Chargers. People thought that he was making San Diego look very foolish for letting him go as he looked nothing like the player that we saw the past couple of years.

Now he's slowing down and hasn't been playing the same, and that makes us wonder if it's more about the gameplan, or the opposing defenses or is Tomlinson just out of gas? Will we see more Shonn Greene from here on out?

No. 9: Where Did Dustin Keller Go?

Earlier in the year, Dustin Keller was a beast for the New York Jets.

In Weeks 2-4 of the season, Keller caught five touchdown passes, but he hasn't found the end zone since. Keller's had some decent totals from his position, but he's not getting the looks in the red zone like he was at the beginning of the year.

He's a big, physical target. What gives, Rex?

No. 8: Do You Have Enough Offense To Win a Title?

At times this year, the New York Jets' offense has looked simply putrid.

I know the Jets have a great defense, but it can't win every game for you. At some point, the offense has to rise up and put some points on the board at a consistent rate in order to win, especially in the playoffs in a couple of weeks.

Is there enough there to make it happen once the Jets get there?

No. 7: Is Brian Schottenheimer A Good Play Caller?

One of the things that has driven Jets fans insane is the playcalling at times.

Watching that Pittsburgh game, some of the decisions were just head-scratching. The Jets would throw in situations late in the game where they should probably run the ball, and it's just poor game strategy. The play calling was much better last week, but there were still lapses.

If you're Rex Ryan, are you a little concerned with that aspect of your team? I would be, at least a little bit.

No. 6: Do You Have a Discipline Problem?

The one thing that has been around the New York Jets is what seems to be a lack of discipline.

We have players like Braylon Edwards getting in legal trouble off the field and there are players harassing a female reporter in the locker room and during practice, and it just seems like there's a culture that allows those type of things to go on.

Is it a "boys will be boys" situation or is there a serious issue with this team?

No. 5: Is Mark Sanchez A Franchise Quarterback?

Mark Sanchez had a lot of hype when he was drafted by the Jets and it's been an up-and-down ride.

Sanchez has been great at times and other times he has struggled mightily. Recently he's had some issues, especially with his throws on the other team's side of the 50-yard line. Even though he's young, he makes some mistakes he shouldn't make, and that has some people concerned.

If you have to turn him into a game manager, does that make him a franchise quarterback?

No. 4: Did You Order The Wall?

Sal Alosi was in the news recently for tripping a Miami Dolphins player as he was trying to cover a punt against the Jets.

There was a wall of Jets players there with Alosi, and it was said that he told them to stand there on the sideline as the player ran by them to try and make him run around them. Rex Ryan wasn't far from where the trip happened, and you have to wonder if he knew this was a common practice on the sideline.

You'd have to think that he had at least an inkling, right?

No. 3: Are The Jets Lucky Or Good?

The New York Jets have struggled at times this year and it's with teams that you wouldn't really expect.

The Jets have struggled with teams like Detroit and Houston and suffered an embarrassing loss to Miami. New York has also pulled out a lot of games it shouldn't have won, especially the Cleveland game. It begs the question if the Jets are more lucky than good.

It's an interesting theory, but wouldn't you rather be lucky?

No. 2: Do You Really Believe What You Say?

Rex Ryan is a reporter's dream. Plain and simple.

He will say whatever is on his mind and has no problem talking some smack before a game. It is one of the reasons that he's one of the more popular and noticeable head coaches in all of football. So many coaches just speak vaguely, but Ryan is the opposite of that.

Does he really believes what he says, or is he just doing it to pump up his team?

No. 1: Is That Really You and Your Wife?

Really Rex? No, seriously. Is that you and your wife?

I know you've said it's a personal matter, but that isn't a confirmation, nor is it a denial. I would love to know if you and your wife, knowing that you're a public figure, filmed foot fetish videos and then talked about very sexually explicit things online.

It's such a bizarre situation that I would love to know the truth.
