Michigan Football: 'Twas the Night Before the Gator Bowl
Note: the following was adopted from the original: 'Twas The Night Before Christmas
'Twas the night before football in old Jacksonville,
Wolverines joined the party, it was all such a thrill.
The helmets were hung near the lockers with care,
Awaiting the players who would surely be there.
Although they were far from Ann Arbor’s Big House,
The game would be played like the dog and the mouse.
The Bulldogs would chase after shoeless Denard,
In hopes of preventing that one extra yard.
Now Stonum, Now Schilling, Now Koger, Now Mouton;
On Roundtree, On Kovacs, On Rogers, On Lewan.
By halftime we knew, the Bulldogs were lathered,
The gamblers all knew, the point spread was shattered
Halftime was here, Michigan had a big lead,
You’d think 28 was all that we’d need.
The second half came, no lead was enough,
The bumbling defense became nothing but fluff.
While all looked bleak, near the clock’s final click,
Michigan was faced with a game-winning kick.
The fans stared intently as the ball flew near,
Then nothing was heard but a Maize and Blue cheer
The players were glad they captured the fray,
The fans were excited, it was one strange day.
Brandon will face so much endless chatter,
To RichRod himself, the win might not matter.
