Rex Ryan has jumped ahead of the largest divas in the NFL to become the biggest character in the league. He has a larger than life personality and a mouth to match it.

First and foremost, it's what he says that draws attention to both him and the team. However, his antics are a close second.

One way or another, he always manages to find himself under the spotlight.

Hate him or love him, Ryan is here to stay and he won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

He's Cocky

It's no secret that Rex Ryan has a big ego. There are times when it's appropriate, and times when it is unnecessary.

Ryan tiptoes around that fine line.

When he has to, he'll try and be humble, but we all know what he's really thinking.

He Has a Foul Mouth

Rex Ryan turned heads in training camp when the New York Jets were featured on HBO's Hard Knocks.

Scene after scene featuring Ryan was filled with profanity.

Ryan even earned the disapproval of Tony Dungy.

Dungy said on the Dan Patrick radio show, "It's hard for me to be around that. If I were in charge, I wouldn't hire somebody like that."

He Likes To Have Fun With The Media

Rex Ryan's press conferences have become a weekly staple in the media.

Ryan loves to have fun with members of the media. He enjoys cracking jokes and turns into a goofball when he gets on camera.

He'll Surprise You

Rex Ryan surprised a lot of people when he recorded this message for New York Jets' season ticket holders. He was essentially pleading with the Jets fans to come early to the game, fill up the seats and make some noise.

This type of occurrence is rarely ever heard of and it was shocking to hear those words come out of Ryan's mouth.

He's Inappropriate

Rex Ryan was fined earlier this year after he was pictured at an MMA bout making an obscene gesture towards a Miami Dolphins fan.

Ryan had to pony up $50,000 for his actions and I'm sure he'll think twice about doing that again.

Even he called his actions "stupid and inappropriate."

He Speaks His Mind

Rex Ryan is far from shy. When he thinks strongly about something, he'll make sure the world knows about it.

If he has to call you out on something, he'll be loud and clear.

Make no mistake about it, Ryan will not back down and he'll get his message across to you.

He Has a Temper

When the team is winning, the public sees Rex Ryan's jovial nature.

However, when the team is losing or they don't get a call to go their way, Ryan has a temper like no other.

These are the situations where you'll hear him go into a profanity-laced tirade.

He's a Clown

Rex Ryan made headlines before a game against the Cleveland Browns. He grabbed a Browns' shirt and hat, threw on a wig and impersonated his brother Rob Ryan.

He had two great lines impersonating his brother.

"I think Rex is a great coach and I think he's a great person. There's no question about that. He's very handsome."

After being asked about his hair, he said "Well, I'm trying to get a head coaching job, so I'm dying it a little bit, to keep looking young and all that kind of stuff."

He Taunts The Opposition

If there's a player from the other team he doesn't like or has an issue with, he'll rip into him just as bad as if it were one of his own players making a mistake.

But He Still Respects Other Players If They Earned It

Rex Ryan will take jabs at opposing players, but he'll surprise you by doing a 180 and praising a player from the opposing team.

However, that only happens when they have earned it.

It's clear that Ryan has great respect for Peyton Manning and you can hear it directly from his mouth during a showdown between the two teams.
