Liverpool's Boxing Day Clash Against Blackpool in Doubt Due to Weather
After the postponement last weekend of Liverpool's home clash with Fulham in the Premier League, along with most other top-flight fixtures, Reds players and fans are itching to get back into the groove against Blackpool in the traditional Boxing Day fixture list.
However, it is looking at the moment as though Liverpool will miss out on playing the first of the "Christmas fixtures," as the game is in danger of being postponed due to a combination of the heavy snowfall over the U.K. and the lower-than-usual standard of Blackpool's facilities.
Bloomfield Road, home of the Tangerines, does not have under-soil heating facilities and fears are widespread that the cover currently in place may not prevent the pitch from freezing up, either ahead of the game or once it is removed, during the match itself.

Liverpool will feel they owe a performance against Blackpool after the newly-promoted side beat them 2-1 at Anfield, in arguably the lowest point of a poor Reds season so far.
Blackpool held a two nil lead at Anfield, with goals from Luke Varney and Charlie Adam, before Greek defender Soto Kyrgiakos pulled one back in the second half.
With Blackpool's all-out attacking style, Liverpool would hope to take advantage of the extra space in midfield and attack to record a welcome away-from-home three points for a change, but the weather may foil their chance to do so on the 26th of December.
For now, all Liverpool and Blackpool fans can do is wait and hope that the game gets the go-ahead.
