Brett Favre: 10 New Streaks We'd Like To See Him Start in 2011
Brett Favre definitely isn't ending his career on a high note.
The Minnesota Vikings quarterback has endured a long season filled with losses, interceptions, sacks, scandal and the end to his streak of consecutive starts.
Then came the Monday night game with Chicago. Favre had been ruled out for last week's game with the New York Giants while he recovered from a shoulder sprain, but was then suddenly questionable for the Bears.
Favre wanted the fans to have one last chance to see him at home, and convinced Leslie Frazier to let him play. He did hobble out, completing five of seven passes for 63 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
It's time for Favre to exit gracefully, but there are still things to achieve.
New streaks to begin.
Here are 10 new streaks he should have no problem with in 2011:
10. One Week at the Manning Passing Academy
1 of 10
Favre won't have too far of a drive from Kiln, Miss., to Thibodaux, La., where the Mannings host their annual passing camp for college football quarterbacks.
Since he craves the spotlight, here's an easy chance to go make a quick stop and give some "advice" to the campers.
9. 365 Days With Just Your Family
2 of 10
As hard as it will be, Favre needs to ignore texts from reporters and anxious ESPN anchors jonezing for a chance to break an exclusive about if he'll make another comeback.
He needs to just go fish, enjoy being a grandpa and maybe go visit fans at this famous bar.
Leaving football will be hard—We know.
But consider this a treatment plan of sorts—A football detox.
8. Twelve Weeks Of Southern Miss Games
3 of 10
If it's hero worship and adulation he needs, Favre can just follow his alma mater around, and attend Southern Miss games.
Hattiesburg, Miss., is a plush, thriving metropolis, and he should find all the attention he could ever want there.
7. Four Weeks Of Two-a-Days
4 of 10
You've got to figure Favre will get that urge to return when training camps start, but he needs to be strong and resist that temptation.
Instead, he should just make his way over to the local high school, hang out for two-a-days and throw to receivers.
Think about what a perfect arrangement it would be—He can be around football, get tons of attention and see if he can't break any receivers' fingers with his passes.
6. Sixteen Weeks With Mike Holmgren
5 of 10
If he just absolutely can't stay away and has to be around the NFL, then Favre should head north to Cleveland and hang out with team president Mike Holmgren.
The two could get nostalgic, relive their Packers glory days and Favre could be available to provide Colt McCoy with some pointers.
5. 52 Weeks Without Hearing About Sexting and Reporters
6 of 10
Regardless of how the NFL rules, it's just dirty and wrong to hear allegations that a 40-something, married man, father and grandfather was sending pictures of his privates out.
4. Four Weeks With No Drama
7 of 10
Yes, it would be nice to go a full year, but let's start small and work up from there.
Imagine how nice it will be to go a month without hearing about stories involving Favre and injuries, comebacks, coaching conflicts or inappropriate behavior with reporters.
3. 10 Weeks As The New Centrum Spokesperson
8 of 10
He would do for Centrum what Sally Field has done for Boniva.
Sales for the multi-vitamin would skyrocket, and Favre would get another chance to make a quick buck and stay on TV.
2. Six Months Of Not Leading off Sportscenter
9 of 10
Maybe it's too much to ask, but imagine Sportscenter not leading off with reports from a source of a source of a source of Brett Favre's neighbor saying he is considering a comeback.
Chris Mortensen will need time to adjust, and SI's Peter King may get jittery, but life without Favre won't be too bad.
1. 10 Weeks Of New Wrangler Commercials
10 of 10
Nothing that hard-working, ordinary people love more than seeing an NFL legend brag about his jeans while driving a pickup, and tossing around the pigskin to a fake group of buddies with ZZ Top blaring in the background.
