Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The status of Kyle Orton (ribs) heading into Week 16 against the Houston Texans is unknown at this point, but Tebow could be a solid fantasy option regardless if Orton plays or not.
The Texans entered Week 15 with the league’s worst pass defense and had allowed the most fantasy points (19.8 per game) to opposing quarterbacks entering the week. Fantasy owners in leagues that use two quarterbacks may want to consider adding Tebow immediately if they have available roster space, perhaps particularly owners of Orton.
The rookie from Florida is currently available in 92 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
Maurice Morris (Detroit Lions)
Morris had 15 carries for 109 yards and a touchdown with three catches for 10 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 15.
He now has double-digit carries in three straight games and appears to be emerging as the Lions’ top running back. His matchups over the next two weeks (Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings) are not particularly strong, but anyone that emerges at this point in the season can have some value to fantasy owners.
Jahvid Best (turf toe) is still around to potentially take touches away from Morris, but he only had six carries last week.
Fantasy owners in 12-team leagues could unearth some value from Morris as a flex option if they have a need. He is available in 90 percent of Yahoo! leagues right now.
Josh Morgan (San Francisco 49ers)
Morgan had seven catches for 106 yards against the San Diego Chargers in Week 15. He now has 188 yards over the last two games as he appears to be emerging as the 49ers’ top wide receiver.
Week 16 and 17 bring fairly favorable matchups against the St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals, so fantasy owners in 12- and 14-team leagues may be able to find some value here if they have a need at wide receiver.
With running back Frank Gore (hip) out San Francisco may throw the ball a bit more than normal, and with wide receiver Michael Crabtree struggling in Week 15, Morgan may continue to see plenty of targets.
He should be available in nearly all fantasy leagues at this point.
Jimmy Graham (New Orleans Saints)
Graham had five catches for 29 yards and two touchdowns against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15. He now has at least three receptions in five of his last six games. Week 16 brings what could be a fairly favorable matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, who coming into Week 15 had allowed a touchdown to an opposing tight end in three of their previous five games.
The presence of Jeremy Shockey does limit Graham’s fantasy upside some, as does the abundance of pass targets Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees likes to use. That means Graham may fall down the pecking order at times, but if he can continue to get looks in the red zone that automatically puts him on the fantasy football radar for this important week.
If you have a need at tight end in deep leagues, the rookie from the “U” should be available in nearly all fantasy leagues at this point.
