Six Reasons The Eagles Pulled Off The Greatest Comeback of All Time
The Giants dominated the Eagles for three-and-a-half quarters. Complete domination. Then, the fireworks went off, and the Eagles pulled off arguably the greatest comeback ever. With Mike Vick, Brent Celek, Jeremy Maclin and of course, DeSean Jackson, the Eagles did the unthinkable.
The Eagles struck quick and didn't stop. Ultimately scoring 28 unanswered points in seven minutes and 28 seconds, which made the scoring show put on in the first quarter in Washington look mediocre.
Rivalry
1 of 6
The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants have been bitter rivals for many years. The unexpected has happened many, many times.
The Eagles play the Giants twice a year, every year! Wouldn't the Giants want to continue to beat up on their downed rival? To show them who's boss? All of this adds to the greatness of the Eagles comeback.
Playoff Implications

The winner of the game was in the clear driver's seat for not only the NFC East, but also a bye for the playoffs.
The Giants had a chance to be in the driver's seat in both circumstances, but let it slip from right under them. The Giants could have ultimately faced the Eagles, for the third time this year, in New York, coming off of a bye. The playoff implications make this comeback even better, which is why the Eagles are now in the driver's seat.
In New York

The Giants were at home. They were playing in their brand-new stadium in front of their joyful crowd. The Eagles fought back, which is even more remarkable considering they were in the hostile environment of New York City.
Little Time, Many Points

The Eagles scored 28 points in seven minutes and 28 seconds, averaging a point every 16 seconds of play. The span of scoring was sparked by Brent Celek's 65-yard TD pass, which was laid in beautifully by Michael Vick.
Then, a coaching blunder by Tom Coughlin opened the door, as the Eagles surprised the Giants (somehow) with an onside kick while down 14 points. Perfectly executed by David Akers, Riley Cooper, and of course Andy Reid, the Eagles recovered.
The next touchdown was scored by Michael Vick on a four-yard run, and then he hit Jeremy Maclin on a 13-yard strike to tie the score. To cap it all off, DeSean Jackson scored on a punt return touchdown to end the frenzy.
First Punt Return Touchdown With Time Expiring To Win a Game Ever

That's right, ever. DeSean Jackson is the only NFL player to win the game for his team with a walk-off punt return touchdown.
Why?
Maybe because it makes the most sense to punt the ball out of bounds, but regardless, Dodge hit a low liner to DeSean Jackson and he made him pay.
The Miracle at The New Meadowlands

Bringing back memories of the 26-yard fumble recovery by Herman Edwards at the Miracle of the Meadowlands, DeSean Jackson played with our memories a bit by accomplishing just as memorable of a feat. Everyone has now coined the game "The Miracle at The New Meadowlands," and that is exactly what it was.
