Celebrating Wrestling: The Top 50 WWE Moments of 2010

Ed_CapDec 24, 2010

So 2010 is about to pass with only two weeks remaining. The WWE is now getting ready for their next pay per view, The Royal Rumble. This year was a very eventful year for the WWE. It is only right that we highlight those moments. I present to you now the most memorable moments of 2010.

Oh yes, WWE did a lot this year that surprised us, excites us and even angered us. There were fun moments and then there stupidly lame ones. Overall it was a nice year and WWE fans certainly got the best of it all.

If you believe I missed a moment you think belongs in the list then comment it. If you believe that a moment deserves to be higher then by all means comment on it. Commenting is fun.

So introductions done. Enjoy.

50. Michael Cole and His Gong

1 of 51

Starting the list is Micheal Cole. Our favorite commentary we love to hate was busy this 2010. Micheal Cole was heard on very WWE program ever since Jim Ross stepped down from color commentating. He also showed his support to The Miz when he interfered on behalf of the "awesome" champ.

Nothing is more memorable than this little stunt on NXT season when he would criticize the NXT contestants but not after ringing a gong. Yes, the WWE decided to give a loudmouth jack ass a gong. Micheal Cole and his gong didn't last but it was one more reason to not watch NXT.

49. Vickie Performs The Hog Splash at WM

2 of 51

At Wrestlemania 26, WWE decided to give the divas some air time. Precious time that they could've used to lengthen the Triple H/Sheamus match but a divas match nonetheless. It was a ten diva tag match featuring Beth Phoenix, Gail Kim, Kelly Kelly, Mickie James and Eve Torres against Michelle McCool, Maryse, Layla, Alicia Fox and Vickie Guerrero. A match that has a lot of divas and botches.

The icing on this cake would appear at the end of the match when Vickie Guerrero climbed up the top rope and hoped to do his late husband proud. Vickie Guerrero performed the frog splash and it was awful. Fans would later call the move the "Hog" splash.

48. Goldust Gets Married To Aksana

3 of 51

On the October 12 episode of NXT, Goldust proposed marriage to Aksana so she could stay in the United States, which she accepted. The following week, they were married with Hornswoggle, Dusty Rhodes and Cody Rhodes in attendance.

When the two was about to kiss, Aksana decided to turn heel and slapped Goldust then walked out on him. Poor Goldust.

The Million Dollarman is an ordained minister? Wow.

47. Smackdown Wins Bragging Rights

4 of 51

At October 24, WWE hosted the Bragging Rights pay per view and had a match between Raw superstars and Smackdown superstars to determine who is the better brand. Who would've guessed that WWE thinks their blue brand is superior?

In one of the worst case of denials ever, Smackdown's team that consisted of The Big Show, Rey Mysterio, Edge, Alberto del Rio, Tyler Reks and Kofi Kingston trumped Raw's team of The Miz, John Morrison, Sheamus, Santino Marella, Ezekiel Jackson and CM Punk.

Smackdown wins the match after Edge pins The Miz and later celebrates his win with Rey Mysterio and unfortunately, Smackdown's mascot, Hornswoggle. Congrats Smackdown.

46. The Unified Tag Belts Debut

5 of 51

On August 16, WWE decided to introduce a new Unified tag team belt after previous champions would carry both the WWE and World tag team championships.

Perhaps I'm the only bitter person when the tag team gold was turned into bronze which really signifies the status of the tag team division in WWE. Apparently, the Divas belt is more ravishing that the Unified Tag Team belt.

It was still a memorable moment in 2010 though, so congratulations to the Hart Dynasty.

45. The Big Show and His Big Ladder

6 of 51

On July 18, WWE decided to ruin a good concept match when they gave two more superstars a Money in the Bank briefcase that guarantee a championship shot at the bearer's choosing.

The Smackdown MITB had Kane, Dolph Ziggler, Christian, Drew McIntyre, Matt Hardy, Cody Rhodes and The Big Show trying to get the coveted briefcase. In one point of the match, the largest athlete in the world climbed a standard ladder and the steps broke. So what's a Big Show to do? Get a big ass ladder.

Sadly for The Big Show, he was taken out early by everybody after being buried in ladders. It was Kane who would win the match later on.

44. Daniel Bryan Unleashes The LeBell Lock

7 of 51

I am a huge Daniel Bryan mark and I was a little disappointed when his submission move is never shown. The Cattle Mutilation is an awesome move. To be honest, it was because there is no finisher in the WWE today worth waiting for. That is, unless you think the FU is really something.

In a feud with The Miz, Daniel Bryan locked on what appears to be a crossface. The commentary would later call it the Labelle lock. Ok, whatever. They can call it whatever, its still one hell of a move.

43. RAW's 900th Episode

8 of 51

On August 30, The WWE's flagship show celebrated its 900th episode that featured The Undertaker and Bret Hart facing off after a good fourteen years. The match never happened because of those damn Nexus though. Yeah, it sucked.

The show also had highlight reels of several RAW moments.

42. The Hart Dynasty Captures Gold

9 of 51

At Extreme Rules, WWE hosted a tag team turmoil where the champions, Big Show and The Miz, put their unified belt on the line against three teams gauntlet style. The match ended with The Hart Dynasty winning it all.

After months of floundering around the WWE, the only legit tag team in the company finally got the lead. They would defend the belt later on from The Usos and have kick ass matches with the other second generation wrestlers.

Congrats for the Hart Dynasty for bringing some prestige back to the tag team division. A feat WWE would later destroy by having them lose to Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre.

41. Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston Rivalry

10 of 51

Dolph Ziggler would have a busy year on Smackdown. The moment he was crowned IC champion, he never let the belt go. He would defend the belt against other IC worthy contenders like MVP, Kaval and Kofi Kingston.

When Kofi lost the belt to Dolph Ziggler, they would have series of matches where Kingston would fall short everytime. This was one of those rivalry that can really be called a rivalry with both superstars bringing something new to every consecutive match they would have.

I was cheering for Kingston so seeing Dolph tap out to the Labell lock was fun. Still, congrats to Dolph Ziggler entering 2011 a champion.

40. Santino Unleashes His Cobra

11 of 51

I actually saw this move at the video game, Smackdown versus Raw 2011, where I had Santino in a singles match against Shawn Michaels. What was your first reaction seeing the cobra?

In a short period of time, fans would get behind Santino whenever he would call his cobra. I cannot believe this move won him the tag team championship.

39. Straight Edge Society Disbands

12 of 51

Stables aren't what they used to be but it was still a treat to see any stable that isn't The Nexus. CM Punk would utilize the stable at the beginning of the year even adding a bald Joey Mercury to the mix. His feud with Rey Mysterio was intensified with SES behind him.

After that, well, SES was buried by the WWE. The team would show sign of disbanding entering the feud with The Big Show. The stable would eventually end when CM Punk would beat Luke Gallows in a match.

It was still one hell of a year for SES though. The appearance of Joey Mercury, the release of Serena or that freaky mask CM Punk wore. SES was a talked about stable.

38. Jack Swagger's Soaring Eagle

13 of 51

Jack Swagger is one of those superstars that failed to shine in 2010. No matter how much he try, the WWE would always try to keep him in mid card. Still, he was given the ankle lock and yes, a mascot. The Soaring Eagle.

If Jack Swagger was a sad story then Chavo Guerrero is nothing short of a  tragedy. The guy would humiliate himself wearing an eagle costume and later be once again stuck in a feud with Hornswoggle. What is the WWE thinking?

I see big plans for the soaring eagle though. A feud with the Gobbledy Gooker?

37. Beth Phoenix Enters The Royal Rumble

14 of 51

The Royal Rumble this year was, honestly, a big disappointment. Still, Beth Phoenix would make history by being the second women to enter the Royal Rumble in its entire run. She only lasted a short time in the RR but not before eliminating the Great khali.

36. John Cena's Farewell Speech

15 of 51

The firing of John Cena was one of the stupidest thing the WWE ever pulled off. Viewers aren't as casual as they were in the golden era so what the hell is John Cena doing prancing around RAW after being fired. Does WWE think all its viewers are kids? I'm not even sure the WWE is trying anymore.

So what is John Cena's farewell speech doing in this list? Simple. His speech included this: "I want all the women and kids to chant Let's go Cena and I want all the guys over the age of 18 to chant Cena suck".

This is a move I always wanted Hulk Hogan to admit. John Cena maybe superman but he never once believed it. To today, Hulk still think he is a fabulous wrestler. Yeah, he is that delusional.

So thumbs up for John Cena and his very cheesy speech.

35. Kaitlyn Wins NXT Season 3

16 of 51

I was honestly surprised that Kaitlyn won the NXT. Who would've guessed, right? Kaitlyn would win after Naomi was eliminated last.

So congratulation to Vicki's rookie winning NXT.

34. Legacy Breaks Up

17 of 51

Entering 2011, Legacy got boring. Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase just isn't as successful as they were last year. So the only thing to do is disband them.

At Elimination Chamber, Ted would inadvertently eliminate Randy Orton in the match with a help from Cody Rhodes. Randy did not like that his teammates cost him the WWE championship. So at Wrestlemania, Randy Orton would face his stable buddies in a triple threat match.

This makes no sense since a handicap match would be more exciting, and Randy still won the match anyway. He RKO-ed Ted and delivered the punt to Cody effectively ending Legacy.

33. Jack Swagger Cashes In His MITB

18 of 51

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, expected Jack Swagger to win the Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania. It was one of those healthy surprises of early 2010.

Absolutely nobody also expected Jack Sawagger to cash his briefcase five days later on Smackdown after failing to cash it on RAW. Jack Swagger became World Champion after he capitalizes on Edge's attacked on then champ, Chris Jericho.

It was kinda nice to see the all american american prance around with the gold but absolutely no one ever thought Swagger would last six months with the belt. He would drop the belt to Rey Mysterio three months later.

It was one hell of a championship run though.

32. The Million Dollar Championship Re-Emerges

19 of 51

After Wrestlemania, Ted Dibiase decided to follow his father's footsteps and develop a gimmick of an arrogant superstar. He did everything his dad did. A got a diva to accompany him, he brought back Virgil and, more importantly, he brought back the Million dollar championship.

Who else missed the shiny dollar shaped belt?

Of course, the belt would also be the target of Goldust that starts a rivalry between the bizarre one and fortunate son.

31. Kaval Wins NXT Season 2

20 of 51

When Kaval came to the WWE, he appeared at Nexus. I was a little outraged that botch fest divas would mentor one of the best wrestlers from TNA. If that was to mock Kaval then it failed cause Kaval gained more credibility rising through the ranks with two divas behind him.

I watched the last episode of NXT 2 and I remember three things. One, Alex Riley winning a triple threat and immediately eliminated. Second, Joe Hennig delivers a crappy promo and lastly, Kaval winning NXT. I'm sure every guy who doesn't cheer for John Cena celebrated Kaval's win.

Expect Kaval winning the a belt next year, thats for damn sure.

30. Daniel Bryan Gets Crowned As US Champ

21 of 51

Daniel Bryan was fairly new to the WWE but he already have a heated rivalry between Micheal Cole during NXT. Cole would insult The American Dragon calling him an internet darling. Another one is with his mentor, The Miz.

When news broke that The Miz would mentor Daniel Bryan, I actually laughed. really really hard. I did not realize it was an angle because after NXT, Daniel Bryan would target The Miz and his US belt. Miz would put his belt on the line to prove that he is better than his rookie. He failed miserably and Daniel Bryan would grab his first ever title in the WWE from his mentor.

Isn't it lovely seeing The Miz tap out to the Labell?

29. Triple H Shelved By Sheamus

22 of 51

Sheamus had a nice year. We can all tell his push is not yet over. Sheamus became king, he won another world title and more impressively, he injured Triple H.

In a Wrestlemania rematch, Sheamus would beat Triple H at Extreme Rules in an old school Street Fight. The time is right for Triple H to return at The Rumble possibly taking on King Sheamus for a King vs. King of Kings match.

28. Smackdown Took Over RAW

23 of 51

On April 19, 2010, many of the WWE Raw superstars were stranded in Belfast because of a local volcano emitting ash cloud. So plan B was to have Smackdown superstars take over Raw. Yes, for the very first time in a long time, the RAW main event did not have John Cena or Randy Orton in it.

The main event had Triple H, Edge and Rey Mysterio versus CM Punk, Luke Gallows and Chris Jericho

27. Chris Jericho Eliminated First at The Six Pack Challenge

24 of 51

Chris Jericho had a dramatic end this year. At Night of Champions, he swore that he would win the WWE championship or he would leave the WWE. All was in shock when Chris Jericho was the very first person eliminated at the match. All the other superstar stood in shock as Chris Jericho slowly leaves the ring.

Lets hope Jericho returns at 2011 in time for Wrestlemania.

26. Laycool Unifies The Womens and Divas Title

25 of 51

At Night of Champions, Laycool and Melina decided to make history by unifying the Divas and Women's belt in a lumberjill match. Michelle McCool and Melina battled it out but it was an aid from Layla that helped Laycool be crowned the unified Divas champion.

Of course, everybody noticed that Laycool still dawns two Divas belt signifying the retirement of the women's championship. Such a shame.

25. A Rated R Rumble

26 of 51

It was no surprise. Edge returned to the 2010 Royal Rumble and entry number twenty nine. The big surprise is that the Rated R superstar would last long enough and win the entire thing eliminating John Cena last.

This was really a shame of a rumble since the final four was all former champions and every rumble favorites didn't even had a good run. Plus, our rumble winner didn't even win the match at Wrestlemania.

Still, it was one of Edge's finest moment.

24. Shelton Benjamin Released

27 of 51

The WWE had a lot of superstars released. Some of them were wrestlers that never given a proper run in the company. There was Carlito, MVP, the Burchills but for some cosmic reason, fans were outraged about Shelton Benjamin's release.

Shelton Benjamin faded away from our mind after WWE stopped his pushed. Then came the announcement of his release and it was like a riot was about to break out. Fans never really understood that his talents are being wasted in WWE and there are other promotions which are happy to highlight him. Still, there were so many articles, especially here, who ranted away about Shelton Benjamin's release.

Bitterness or not, WWE lost a world champion in Shelton Benjamin.

23. Ezekiel Jackson Wins ECW Championship

28 of 51

Ezekiel Jackson is crowned by the WWE as the final ECW champion. On February 16, Ezekiel Jackson was granted a title shot at Christian's ECW championship at the final episode of ECW in an Extreme rules match.

It was a big shock seeing Ezekiel raise the belt high as ECW signs off since logic would tell you that Christian would keep the belt. It was a pretty odd move since no push was given to Jackson after that little stunt. In fact, Ezekiel got injured prior to his move on RAW and recently returned to participate in the King of the Ring tournament.

Congrats to Ezekiel Jackson. The final ECW champion.

22. CM Punk On Commentary

29 of 51

CM Punk was diagnosed with a hip injury a while back and WWE decided to keep his presence on television by making him a commentator. On November 22 edition of RAW, Punk joined Jerry Lawler and Micheal Cole on the announcer's table.

His commentating is also a breath of fresh air after hearing Cole on RAW, Smackdown, NXT and Superstars.

21. King Sheamus

30 of 51

On November 29, The WWE brought back the King of the Ring. It was actually an exciting moment in television because all of the competitors are fairly new or often stuck at mid card. There was Alberto del Rio, John Morrison, Daniel Bryan, Ezekiel Jackson, Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston and Sheamus.

Of all those amazing superstars that can get a leg up with a win at KOTR, it was that freaking mayonaisse jar that won it. My heart broke when Jomo and Kofi is once again taking a back seat to a guy who accidentally threw John Cena in a table last year.

Congratulations to Sheamus though. You deserve that win.

20. Paul Bearer Returns To The WWE

31 of 51

On September 24, Kane issued a challenge to The Undertaker for Hell in a Cell. During his promo, a casket appeared and fans thought it was The Undertaker up to his old tricks. I actually thought to myself that it would be a manequin of Kane inside or whatever.

Kane opened the casket and I know every person who loved The Undertaker either stood up or yelled in surprise, or both, when they saw Paul Bearer in the casket. What a smart move by the WWE to bring back the brother of destruction's manager into their feud.

This didn't last though as Kane would kill off Paul Bearer when he was pushed off a balcony. It was fun while it lasted.

19. Jerry Lawler's First TLC Match

32 of 51

On November 29, Jerry Lawler would be granted his first WWE title shot against the Miz in a match he has never participated before. A table, ladders and chairs match. It was a nice moment to see a 61 year old Jerry Lawler climb up a steel ladder. Even though it was PG, hearing tables breaking is a pleasant nostalgic sound to hear.

All of that was ruined by Micheal Cole who interfered on behalf of The Miz costing Lawler the championship. Now, I don't know about you but I don't think its a good idea for The Miz to defeat a hall of famer in his first title defense.

It was a great match nonetheless, following the PG format.

18. Batista Challenges John Cena at EC

33 of 51

There were three Money in the Bank winners but for some reason, there were four people who cashed in their briefcase. At Elimination Chamber, an exhausted John Cena was just crowned the new World Heavyweight champion beating five other superstars.

Vince Mcmahon would then cut the celebration short and announced that Cena would defend his title against Batista there and now. Batista beat him cleanly and without effort, or any ladders, he became the WWE champion. Nice one WWE.

17. Team WWE Wins Against Team Nexus

34 of 51

The Nexus....I have nothing good to say.

At Summerslam, the Nexus would prove their dominance when they challenged the WWE to a seven on seven elimination tag team match. The Nexus is made up of NXT Season 1 competitors with Wade Barrett, the Season 1 winner, as their leader.

Team WWE is made up of R Truth, John Morrison, Edge, Chris Jericho, Bret Hart, Daniel Bryan and their leader by popularity, John Cena.

You really can't prove you're a legit threat to anything when on your actual fair fight, and the main event too, you lose to John freaking Cena.

Outstanding efforts by Kip Sheffield by the way. Let's hope he returns at 2011.

16. Randy Orton RKOs Evan Bourne

35 of 51

On July 12, Randy Orton would prove the RKO is a devastating finisher when he delivered it to Evan Bourne in mid air.

An inventive counter to the Shooting star press.

15. Rey Mysterio and CM Punk Rivalry

36 of 51

In every right, the rivalry of the year is between these two greats. There are a lot of moments in this rivalry worth talking about. The appearance of Dominic who fans last saw being told that Eddie was his father, the SES pledge if Rey Mysterio would lose the match and of course, Rey Mysterio shaving CM Punk's head.

The Over the limit match is very much fresh to me. The SES pledge versus hair match which WWE try to stop because of CM Punk suddenly bleeding.

While many would argue that Nexus versus Cena is the rivalry of the year, you can keep preaching. This rivalry deserves praise. Plus, Nexus sucks.

14. John Cena Joins The Nexus

37 of 51

I was cheering Cena during his match against Wade Barrett at Hell in a Cell because I really wanted the Nexus storyline to end. At the pay per view, superman was about to win when we saw Husky Harris and Micheal McGuillicutty interfere and lengthen the already stale storyline.

It was a real shocker seeing John Cena lose to Wade Barrett.

13. Angry Miz Girl Accepts Her Slammy

38 of 51

What else is there to say?

Miz was right calling her expression the definitive sentiment to his surprising win. You gotta hand it to the WWE cause I know it must be hard tracking her down.

12. Jim Ross' Final Commentary

39 of 51

On the October 21 edition of Smackdown Jim Ross declared that he will not commentating the upcoming PPV, Bragging Rights. The WWE's voice apparently is concerned about his Bell's Palsy that has plagued him for years. That was the last time we saw Jim Ross.

When WWE went Old School, I was so happy seeing him back on commentary. Even though it was just one match, I don't care. I miss JR. Unless there any Micheal Cole fans out there.

Its still unclear if JR would resume his former role but lets hope he have a good year at 2011.

11. Alberto Del Rio Debuts

40 of 51

On August 20, Alberto del Rio had his in ring debut against Rey Mysterio. While other new superstars have to settle with local jobbers, del Rio was immediately placed in a rivalry with the masked Rey Mysterio. His debut match was the main event of Smackdown. It's obvious WWE has big plans for him seeing how high his push has become.

His gimmick lacks originality though. I still remember JBL's entrance and to be honest, del Rio is like a mexican JBL. What's up with that?

Injuring and making Mysterio tap out though is something JBL can't do so congrats del Rio on an impressive debut.

10. The Nexus

41 of 51

We're in the top ten and as much as I wanna avoid it, I have to include The Nexus in the top ten moment of 2010. In the June 5 edition of RAW, the NXT contestants came into the ring during the main event and attacked everyone at ringside. They destroy everything around the ring and even beat up poor Justin Roberts.

The next week, they explained their reason for ruing a perfectly good Cena/punk match. All is summed up to their catch phrase, "You're either Nexus or against us."

For the rest of the year, the NXT participants would blind side and beat up everyone they see as a threat. Their finer moment came at Summerslam when they almost had John Cena defeated.

The Nexus would mostly focus on Cena. John Cena would join Nexus, be fired and get re hired. More surprisingly, The Nexus will carry over to the next year, possibly ruining the Royal Rumble like Legacy did back at 2009.

9. Shawn Micheals Vs. Rey Mysterio

42 of 51

On June 29, Shawn Michaels and Rey Mysterio would meet in the ring for the first time ever. Coincidentally, this was also the last time.

This was a fabulous match that deserves to be in a pay per view. Shawn Micheals was close to his retirement at this point so it was nice treat. The match was abruptly ended though, thanks to The SES who was in a rivalry with Rey Mysterio then.

8. The Mystery RAW GM

43 of 51

This guy certainly had our head scratching. Who the hell is the RAW GM? The mystery RAW gm was appointed by Mr. Mcmahon after Bret Hart was removed as general manager. I also would like to thank this guy for giving Nexus the right to compete on RAW giving them contracts as his first official general manager act.

The voice of Micheal Cole after the annoying bleeping is certainly something I can't take. Apparently, Edge thinks so too. Edge would be drafted to Smackdown after he would destroy a laptop. You gotta love a guy who can enter a rivalry with a laptop.

Fans speculated who the guy was. Triple H? Micheal Cole himself? Joey Styles anyone? I guess we have to wait for next year.

7. Kane's Main Event Push

44 of 51

By far the biggest push of 2010 was that of Kane. After discovering his brother was in a vegetative state, Kane went on a crusade to find out who was the culprit. It was an impressive promo that convinced fans that they wanted to see him more. WWE granted it when Kane won money in the bank then cashed it on the same night on Rey Mysterio.

WWE creative really screw up on the next part because apparently Kane was the one who injured his brother. Yeah, he was chasing himself. This led to a series of over hyped but average matches between the brothers that ended with Kane burying his brother alive. With the help of Nexus (WTF!)

Kane's push has been long over due but I still wanna congratulate Kane for sticking this long and becoming more than a one day champion.

6. The Undertaker Keeps His Streak Alive

45 of 51

At Wrestlemania 26, The Undertaker faced off against Shawn Micheals in a much anticipated rematch. The Undertaker refused the rematch at first going into Wrestlemania but Shawn Michaels wanted it badly. At Elimination Chamber, Shawn Micheals appeared in the Elimination Chamber match and super kicked The deadman eliminating him.

The Undertaker finally agreed only if Shawn will put his career on the line. Shawn Michaels accepted. So HBK was sure that he can defeat the legendary streak of The Undertaker at Wrestlemania.

Shawn Michaels was close but just like last year, it was The Undertaker who proved to be better.

5. Daniel Bryan Returns at Summerslam

46 of 51

During The Nexus invasion storyline, a controversy erupted about Daniel Bryan choking the announcer Justin Roberts with his tie. Apparently that is a huge no no in the PG format and it was zoomed in by the camera for a pretty long time. Sad to say, Daniel Bryan was released after that.

When Summerslam came, The Miz was expected to be the seventh member of Team WWE until John Cena said he wasn't. He then announced that Daniel Bryan was the seventh member.

Wasn't that just awesome? WWE did the fans a huge favor when they brought back Daniel Bryan. In the Summerslam match, Daniel Bryan also eliminated two members of the Nexus before being eliminated by Wade Barrett after The Miz hit him with a skull crushing finale.

4. Batista Leaves WWE

47 of 51

At Extreme Rules, Batista promised that if he loses the "I Quit" match then he will leave WWE. At first fans thought it was a scripted shoot. Why would a guy who is a solid main eventer leave the WWE? The WWE has been nice to him and he has a pretty big fan base.

Batista eventually lost the match and the next night on RAW, Batista left the WWE. So it was really true. The animal wanted to leave the WWE.

Batista later stated that he wanted to try MMA. So a guy who has a yearly injury will try a sport where a sleeper hold can actually make you sleep. That'll be interesting to see.

3. The Miz Becomes WWE Champion

48 of 51

We all know it was going to happen. We all knew we will be mad when it happens. Sadly nothing can prepare us for the painful fact that The Miz is the new WWE champion.

On November 22 edition of RAW, WWE champion Randy Orton was set to defend his belt against Wade Barrett. Before the match, Randy Orton was jumped by the rest of Nexus leaving him injured. He still fought Wade and triumph.

Then The Miz suddenly came and cashed in his briefcase. We all thought Randy would do the impossible and beat the Miz but alas, a skull crushing finale ended it all. There it is, The Miz is the WWE champion. A fact we all must live with.

What exactly does make The Miz a champion? Mic Skills? Mic Skills can't suplex a wrestler and I am sure Lou Thesz, who lived at a time where promos aren't necessary, is laughing very loud right now.

Good or bad, The Miz is the new WWE champion.

2. Bret Hart Returns To The WWE

49 of 51

January 4, 2010.

TNA acquired two new talent early 2010. It was monumental moment when TNA declared war on the WWE. Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan entered TNA and immediately took over. On their first Monday night edition, Hulk Hogan was set to return to wrestling. Hulkamaniacs everywhere rejoice.

The WWE countered that with a big news as well. Bret Hart was set to return to the WWE. The last time we saw the excellence of execution, he was screwed over in Montreal.

Fans all over saw Shawn Michaels shake  Bret Harts hand. I don't watch TNA so I also saw this. Awesome moment.

1. Shawn Micheal Says Farewell

50 of 51

Shawn Micheals ended his career at 2010. The heart break kid hung up his boots and left the WWE. The night after Wrestlemania, HBK delivered a very heartfelt speech.

A career that started at the golden era and ended at the PG era. From the Rockers to Degeneration x to the Showstopper to the Icon. He will surely be missed.
