TSBB Morning Quarterback: Ball State vs. Navy

And let me just say this: this team is something special. Whenever I watch Ball State's offense, it feels like I'm watching a video game offense. I've never once worried about our offense this year. Although it was choppy in parts, it was a great performance. And our defense came to life, and that might be the biggest thing from the game. Along with the fact that Gov. Mitch Daniels made an appearance at the game.

The Good:

1. Nate Davis

The junior had another great game, throwing for 326 yards and four touchdowns. His first touchdown pass to Dante Love was unbelievable. His best pass of the night, however, was dropped by Dan Ifft on a play-action pass.

2. The offense

It had another huge game, talling 493 total yards.

3. MiQuale Lewis

Lewis showed his importance to the team, rushing for 120 yards and one score.

4. Briggs Orsbon and Dante Love

The true freshman caught his first career touchdown pass and Love was his usual self, catching nine balls for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Love is good.

The bad:

1. The defense

This is another one of those things where I need to put something here. I'm very happy with the way our defense played. Yes, we allowed 401 yards, but we held them to three field goals on three key drives. Shun White was held to 126 yards rushing. Yes, I use that as held. That 4-and-1 stop was something special.

The ugly:

1. Nate Davis' two interceptions

Ouch, those two passes were terrible. They went RIGHT to the Navy defenders, with no Ball State defenders.

2. Dan Ifft

Dan, you let me down. I picked you to have a huge game and you had one catch for 11 yards. Boo.

After I rewatch the game on Sunday, I may have more things to add here.
