Game Ball: Ryan Fitzpatrick: 16 for 26, 223 YDS, 2 TD, INT. The guy plays with confidence from start to finish, something Miami cannot say about Chad Henne.

Stat: Zero. Dan Carpenter kicked a donut (0 for 4) today in what will probably go down as the worst game of his career.

Quote: “It’s not like we’re not trying out there not to win at home” —Chad Henne. That about sums it up. Excellent triple negative, Chad!

Notes

Henne has zero confidence at this point. The guy has shown no ability to feel pocket pressure, read through progressions quickly or look off his receiver. Those are things that typically cannot be easily fixed. Benching him for the second time of the season is long overdue. I don’t care who replaces him. He’s shown nothing to even give us a glimpse of hope for the future.

There is absolutely no chance Miami can make the playoffs at this point. A couple losses to finish season would not be the worst thing, as it would improve their draft order.

Tony Sparano and crew are definitely on the hot couch. Also, Bill Cowher leaked a list of three teams he would be interested in coaching next year; Miami was one of them. Look for Jon Gruden’s name to also be thrown around. But why would anyone want to take over a team that will be starting over at quarterback?
