Fantasy Football Week 15 Injury Updates and Notes
The fantasy playoffs are in full swing and every bit of news is more important than ever.
Tim Tebow will make his first start of his career against the Oakland Raiders. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, he replaces one time fantasy stud Kyle Orton.
One of fantasy football’s elite MVP’s, Aaron Rodgers, will miss this all important fantasy playoff week after suffering a concussion against the Detroit Lions last week.
Who else is active and inactive in the most important fantasy week to date?
Roy Williams, Dallas Cowboys
1 of 18
Roy Williams is inactive against the Washington Redskins with a knee injury. Expect Miles Austin and Jason Witten to be relied on heavily with Dez Bryant already out for the season.
Marion Barber, Dallas Cowboys
2 of 18
Marion Barber is still out with the calf injury. Tashard Choice will continue to back up Felix Jones and is an interesting flex play against Washington with his dual threat abilities.
Matt Cassel, Kansas City Chiefs
3 of 18
Cassel (appendectomy) is active against the St. Louis Rams and has been finally cleared to start despite poor warm-ups.
Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville Jaguars
4 of 18
As expected, Jones-Drew is active despite being bothered this week with a knee injury. Jones-Drew is a must start as looks to keep himself in the MVP race, somewhat. Jones-Drew has a great matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
David Garrard, Jacksonville Jaguars
5 of 18
Garrard, as expected, is active after suffering from a hamstring injury. Garrard has been on point for most of the season and has a good match up against the Colts. Jacksonville should be going all out to sweep the Colts this season and bring home an AFC South division title.
DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles
6 of 18
As expected, Jackson is active with a foot injury against division rival New York Giants. DeSean Jackson lit up the Cowboys last week, but don’t expect a similar performance.
Mario Manningham, New York Giants
7 of 18
Manningham hurt his hip against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday but is playing against the Eagles. The Giants need him with Steve Smith (hamstring) out for the season.
Chris Ivory, New Orleans Saints
8 of 18
Chris Ivory is out against the Ravens with a hamstring injury. With Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush back, Ivory wasn’t a solid play anyways, especially against the Ravens.
Joseph Addai, Indianapolis Colts
9 of 18
Addai is still out with several injuries. Addai has been a disappointment this season. Even if he returns next week, he wouldn’t make a good fantasy play in his first game back. Javarris James will continue to see goal line duties.
Tim Tebow, Denver Broncos
10 of 18
Tebow is expected to make his first start on the road for the Denver Broncos in place of Kyle Orton. Tebow isn’t a good fantasy option but it should be exciting to see him in his first start nonetheless.
Ryan Torain, Washington Redskins
11 of 18
Torain is active, as expected, with the hamstring injury. Torain brought the running game back to Washington last week against Tampa Bay by rushing for over 170 yards in the contest.
Austin Collie, Indianapolis Colts
12 of 18
Collie is active again with the concussions. He isn’t the best fantasy option, but Peyton Manning gets upgrade some, if that is possible.
Jacob Tamme, Indianapolis Colts
13 of 18
Tamme is active against the Jaguars with the division possibly on the line. He should see a lot of targets from Peyton Manning again.
Beanie Wells, Arizona Cardinals
14 of 18
Beanie Wells is active with the flu and has dealt with a knee injury most of the season. Wells has been terrible all season and does not make for a good fantasy play this week.
Mike Williams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
15 of 18
Williams is active again, as expected, although he was slowed last week with a knee injury. Arrelious Benn was relied on more last week and produced with four receptions for 122 yards. Williams could be used as more of a decoy again this week.
Chad Ochocinco, Cincinnati Bengals
16 of 18
Ochocinco cut his hand over the weekend but is expected to play. He has been up and down all season but should do fine against the Cleveland Browns.
Terrell Owens, Cincinnati Bengals
17 of 18
Owens has been slowed by a knee injury but is active as expected against the Cleveland Browns. Owens should abuse the Browns secondary.
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
18 of 18
Rodgers is not expected to play against the New England Patriots Sunday night. Matt Flynn is expected to start and send the Packers’ playoff hopes down the drain.
