The NFC South: "Change Vs. The Same"
The political war between Barack Obama and John McCain eerily resemble the crucial battle America will witness this fall in the NFC South. On Sunday, the Saints vs. Bucs match will begin to challenge for the NFC South Championship crown. This could be considered the most underrated contest within the NFC. In one corner of the Gulf Coast you have the Saints, which must rebound from their 2007 disappointments. Deep in the the region’s other corner are the Bucs. They are a team that must find a way to break free from the looming NFC South Champions’ jinx. Winning the NFC South has been like a death sentence that has haunted its Champion since the division’s inception.
Galloway and Garcia are in the latter stage of their careers. Brees, McAllister, Bush, Smith and Colston must deliver to Saints fans the Lombardi trophy that has eluded them these 40+ years of existence. Youth vs. Experience, Dreams vs. a Glimmer of Hope, Change vs. the Same. The NFC East may have its stars in Dallas, Philly, Washington and New York, but the NFC South will provide the real entertainment to watch in the NFC for the 2008 season.
