NFL Picks Week 15: Picking New York Jets-Pittsburgh Steelers and The Best Games
NFL Week 15 has already kicked off with the San Diego Chargers routing the San Francisco 49ers.
That muddled the AFC and NFC's playoff pictures even more, as the Chargers forced themselves into contention, while the 49ers failed to assert themselves, but remain alive.
Matchups like the Jets-Steelers game and Peyton Manning's Indianapolis Colts facing off against Maurice Jones-Drew's Jacksonville Jaguars will go a long way in determining who will make the postseason.
Here are my predictions against the spread for Week 15, starting with Jets-Steelers.
Jets (+6) Over Steelers
1 of 6
I was originally leaning towards Pittsburgh covering here, but the news that Troy Polomalu will likely miss the game changes everything.
The Steelers defense just isn't the same without him.
Jets 21, Steelers 17
Chiefs (PK) Over Rams
2 of 6
The Chiefs have been struggling lately, especially against good teams.
But St. Louis, as improved as they are, isn't a good team.
Kansas City should run all over St. Louis with Jamaal Charles and take this one.
But if Brodie Croyle is starting, he'll have to play better than last week. A lot better.
Also, for the record, Matt Cassel has practiced three days in a row. And if he starts, I don't think this will be close.
Chiefs 17, Rams 13
Colts (-4.5) Over Jaguars
3 of 6
In the Jaguars supposed resurgence, they've beaten Oakland, Tennessee, Cleveland, Houston and Dallas (pre-Jason Garrett).
In the Colts supposed slump, they've lost to Philadelphia, New England, San Diego and Dallas (with Garrett).
Bet on Peyton.
Colts 34, Jaguars 20
Giants (-3) Over Eagles
4 of 6
If the Giants don't turn the ball over, they shouldn't have that much trouble.
But they turn the ball over than most teams in the league and Philadelphia takes the ball away better than anyone.
Still, Eli has suffered from a host of bad luck and dropped passes, and he's better than what the turnover numbers might suggest.
Albeit in a losing effort, the Giants contained Michael Vick and should be able to do so again.
The Eagles won't beat the Giants twice.
Giants 28, Eagles 24
Saints (+1) Over Ravens
5 of 6
The Saints have won six straight, while Baltimore has lost two of five and deserved to lose to the Texans in an embarrassing effort.
Baltimore should be able to run on New Orleans, but Cam Cameron never seems motivated to give Ray Rice the ball.
The Saints have an excellent pass defense and can contain Joe Flacco.
Unless Baltimore gets its act together and pounds Rice and McGahee, the Ravens don't stand a chance.
Saints 31, Ravens 20
The Rest
6 of 6
Texans (+1.5) over Titans
Panthers (-2.5) over Cardinals
Bengals (-1) over Browns
Bills (+5.5) over Dolphins
Cowboys (-7) over Redskins
Raiders (-8) over Broncos
Seahawks (+7) over Falcons
Packers (+14.5) over Patriots
Vikings (+7) over Bears
Last week's record: 7-8 (first losing record of the year)
Season record: 68-51
