NFL Picks Week 15: Picking Pittsburgh Steelers-NY Jets and Sunday's Top Games

Brandon BeckerDec 17, 2010

Week 15's biggest game features the Pittsburgh Steelers and NY Jets. Both teams have had successful seasons, but recently the Jets have taken a tumble.

Right now is not an optimum time for a team to slump with just three games remaining in the season before the playoffs begin.

Mark Sanchez has been struggling of late, and Rex Ryan has openly talked about benching him. On the other side, the Steelers keep churning out wins.

So will the struggling Jets go on the road and revive their season, or will the Steelers stretch their four-game win streak to five?

Find out ahead.

New Orleans at Baltimore

Pick: Baltimore

The Ravens were lucky to come away with a win over Houston this past Monday in overtime. Now they will look to stay in the hunt for the AFC North with a win over the Saints.

New Orleans is playing its best football of the year, but this will be the Saints' first road test against a good team during its current six-game win streak.

At home the Ravens are a tough out, and I'm not sure the Saints have the toughness to go on the road to win a physical game.

Baltimore will take this in a close one and snap New Orleans' win streak.

Green Bay at New England

Pick: New England

Tom Brady is playing his best football since 2007, when he took the Patriots a game from going 19-0. The '07 Pats team was a high-powered offensive team that broke all kinds of records.

This year's team is quite different. There is no more Randy Moss, and something called Danny Woodhead has become an integral part of the offense.

New England's on a five-game win streak and should have no trouble stretching it to six with Aaron Rodgers doubtful for the game.

Philadelphia at NY Giants

Pick: Philadelphia

With the division lead on the line, this will be a huge game in terms of the NFC playoff picture. The Eagles won the first matchup, and if they take Sunday's game they'll own the tiebreaker if it's needed.

NY needs this one and will rely heavily on Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw to carry the load. Eli Manning's been a turnover machine this season, which can't happen against the Eagles.

Any extra possessions the Giants give the Eagles mean more opportunities for Michael Vick to take over.

When it's all said and done, Philadelphia will walk away the winner behind another impressive performance from Vick.

Pick: Indianapolis

It's been an off year for Peyton Manning's Colts, yet they still have a shot to win the AFC South. Jacksonville has won five out of its past six games, but the true test will come against the Colts.

The Jaguars have won five of their last six games, although the quality of competition hasn't been the toughest. If the Jags can beat Indy for the second time, they'll have a stranglehold on the division.

While it has been a fairy tale-like season for Jacksonville, it won't continue on the road against Manning and co. The Colts will make a statement with a convincing win.

NY Jets at Pittsburgh

Pick: Pittsburgh

Too many problems and too much controversy surrounding the Jets right now. As seen in Hard Knocks, Mark Sanchez has a tendency to get down on himself when things aren't going well.

With Rex Ryan openly stating that he thought about replacing him against Miami, you have to wonder if Sanchez has confidence heading into Pittsburgh.

The Steelers are the best team in the league against the run, which doesn't bode well for the Jets' rushing attack. To beat the Steelers, Sanchez is going to have to get it done throwing the football, and judging by his recent play it's hard to believe he can get it done.

Pittsburgh walks away with its 11th win of the season and remains in the hunt for a first-round bye come playoff time.
