Michael Vick Car Commercial: 10 Products We'd Like To See Vick Endorse
Here comes the controversy.
Michael Vick has just landed his first endorsement deal since getting out of prison.
He's the star in a new commercial for Woodbury Nissan, in which he "signs" onto the team.
The debate will go back and forth on whether he deserves an endorsement deal, but you can't deny his acting skills in this commercial.
The commercial ranges from him looking puzzled as cameras flash, team members asking for his autograph, and throwing keys so hard to a fellow associate that he hurts the guy's hand.
Anyway, in light of his new "deal," we at Bleacher Report did a 180, deciding to look at the top 10 products we'd like to see Vick endorse.
Read on for video of the commercial and our top 10 products.
The Commercial
1 of 11Vick's commercial for Woodbury Nissan, titled "The Showroom," is about two minutes long.
It has a good flow to it and is actually pretty funny.
He's got some great expressions, but the one at the end is priceless.
No telling if this commercial will help the company or hurt it given the backlash it might receive, but, nonetheless, it looks like Vick is pretty pleased with his performance.
"I did pretty good. I did pretty good. That's not my MO, that's not what I do, but I can do it if I want to,'' the Eagles quarterback told reporters at his locker yesterday. "You can do anything you put your mind to.''
Vick also noted he's thinking about getting a pet dog.
"I think it would be a big step for me in the rehabilitation process...Just to have a pet in my household and to show people that I genuinely care, and my love, and my passion for animals,'' he said.
Here are the top 10 products we'd like to see Vick endorse.
10. PETA
2 of 11This video came before Joaquin Phoenix had his meltdown on Letterman.
His last line in this one, "Let's make this one for the birds," is perfect for Vick to give a shout-out to the Eagles and at the same time give a shout-out to abused animals.
9. Southwest Airlines
3 of 11
I've been called "mean" by at least one person for this idea, but I'm gonna go ahead with it anyway.
You know those "Southwest: Wanna Get Away?" commercials?
This is how I picture a Southwest commerical with Michael Vick in it:
It starts with Vick having a nightmare that he's still in prison, around a lot of scary inmates. Just as he's getting released, they pull him back, saying, "The Philadelphia Eagles actually have withdrawn their claim on you. Get back into prison with ya."
Vick wakes up in a cold sweat to the words, "Wanna Get Away?"
Okay, I agree, I am mean.
8. Nike
4 of 11Just have Michael Vick saying, "What Should I Do?" instead of LeBron.
Bingo.
7. Coca-Cola
5 of 11Just picture Mean Joe Green as Michael Vick as he limps off the field after getting tackled during a 50-yard run.
Vick is starting to become like Mean Joe Green in a way, who scared fans away then has them warming back up to him.
6. Hertz
6 of 11"I used to run through airports. Now I fly through them."
"Flying with Hertz puts you in the driver's seat faster than anybody else."
Just replace O.J. with Vick in this commercial and you're golden.
5. Gatorade
7 of 11The Old Vick vs. the Young Vick would be perfect here.
4. Nike
8 of 11Replace Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux with Michael Vick and Tom Brady.
"Chicks dig the long ball."
3. Gatorade
9 of 11"Like Mike, if I could be like Mike."
Perfect.
2. Nike
10 of 11Just make Michael Vick say, "I AM a role model," in this commercial.
Just switch up the lines.
"I AM paid to be a role model."
"Just because I throw a football, DOES mean I should raise your kids."
You get the idea.
1. McDonald's
11 of 11We all remember the Jordan-Bird McDonald's commercial.
Just substitute in Vick and Brady and have them throwing into some moving targets or something.
