ESPN: Most of Public Thinks Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Won't Happen

According to a new poll from ESPN SportsNation, 60 percent of people feel Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather will never happen.

The exact question was: "Will Manny Pacquiao Ever Fight Floyd Mayweather?" Currently, out of the 700 people who voted, 60 percent voted "no" and 40 percent voted "yes."

The next question was: "Who Would Be the Best Match Up For Manny Pacquiao?"

Currently, here are the votes as they stand, out of 1,279 votes:

Juan Manuel Marquez: 39 percent

Shane Mosley: 35 percent

Andre Berto: 26 percent

Just as much of the true fight fans have been saying they would much rather see a rubber match with Marquez than a fight with the now over-the-hill Mosley.

Then the question was: "Who Will Manny Pacquiao End Up Fighting On May 7?"

Currently, here are the votes as they stand, out of 620 votes:

Shane Mosley: 58 percent

Juan Manuel Marquez: 20 percent

Andre Berto: 10 percent

Someone Else: 17 percent

It is interesting to see that 17 percent of the people believe Manny will fight someone else rather than these three fighters and even more believe this than a fight with Berto.

When asked: "How Would A Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Fight End?"

Currently, here are the votes as they stand out, of 541 votes:

Believe Pacquiao will knock out Mayweather: 33 percent 

Believe Pacquiao will win a decision: 28 percent 

Believe Mayweather will win a decision: 28 percent 

Believe Mayweather will knock out Pacquiao: eight percent   

Believe it will end in a draw: three percent   

When asked: "Who Will History Remember As the Better Fighter?"

Currently here are the votes as they stand, out of 636 votes:

Pacquiao: 75 percent

Mayweather: 25 percent

What does this say about the general public? It may imply that they are frustrated and have given up on the biggest fight of our lifetime.

It may also indicate that right now Pacquiao is the more popular fan-friendly fighter between him and Mayweather, probably mostly due to Floyd's inactivity.

More importantly, this poll proves to us that we would much rather see a rubber match with Juan Manuel Marquez than a fight with Mosley or Berto.

So Bob Arum, Oscar De La Hoya, Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao: Let's give the fight fans what they really want for May 7th.
