NFL Power Rankings Week 15: New England Patriots Continue To Dominate the League

Ethan NorofDec 14, 2010

The Week 15 Power Rankings are here and it’s easy to guess which team is out on top. The question remains: can anyone even compete with the Patriots?

The Falcons continue to look good, the Saints are marching toward the top, and the Eagles continue to excel with Michael Vick under center.

New England Patriots: 11-2, First AFC East

Tom Brady is back to being a phenomenal fantasy football quarterback and the Patriots are dominating every other team in the league, looking like a heavy Super Bowl favorite at this point.

Atlanta Falcons: 11-2, First NFC South

Matty Ice is the real deal and the Falcons could very well represent the NFC proudly in the postseason.

New Orleans Saints: 10-3, Second NFC South

The Saints are marching back to full health and it’s clear that this team has no intentions of relinquishing their title very easily.

Pittsburgh Steelers: 10-3, First AFC North

Despite the struggles on offense, the defense seems to come up big in every clutch situation.

Philadelphia Eagles: 9-4, T-First NFC East

Michael Vick plays great even when he’s not at his best, and the potent Eagles offense looks like it can go head-to-head with any other around the NFL.

New York Giants: 9-4, T-First NFC East

They’ve been inconsistent at times, but now that the offense seems to have found its groove, this is a team that can get hot in a hurry.

Baltimore Ravens: 9-4, Second AFC North

This “dangerous” defense isn’t exactly living up to its title, and the offense hasn’t been the well-oiled machine that many thought it may be. Regardless, they’ve still mustered nine wins already.

Green Bay Packers: 8-5, Second NFC North

Aaron Rodgers’ second concussion of the season has some speculating that it could affect his play down the stretch.

Chicago Bears: 9-4, First NFC North

Everyone was talking about the Bears being for real—that is, until they played the Pats. Hopefully for the team, Jay Cutler doesn’t crumble down the stretch as he’s been known to do.

New York Jets: 9-4, Second AFC East

From Rex Ryan all the down to the 53rd man on the roster, the Jets are a mess right now.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 8-5, Third AFC South

They’ve been playing the role of comeback warriors all season, but at some point, they’re going to have to establish a lead and maintain it if they hope to find sustained success.

Jacksonville Jaguars: 8-5, First AFC South

The Jags sit alone atop the AFC South in first place and they’re really playing some quality football. Of course, there’s still plenty of time to blow it.

San Diego Chargers: 7-6, Second AFC West

The Chargers are the most talented team in the AFC West; unfortunately that talent hasn’t translated into on-field performance.

Kansas City Chiefs: 8-5, First AFC West

The Chiefs were embarrassed 31-0 without Matt Cassel, so clearly it’s not just about the running game.

Indianapolis Colts: 7-6, Second AFC South

The Colts barely squeaked by a Titans team that has had trouble scoring the rock, so it begs the question of how much trouble this team is really in.

St. Louis Rams: 6-7, T-First NFC West

Despite the shellacking the Rams took at the hands of the Saints, they’re tied for first place and could find themselves hosting a first round playoff game for the first time in a long while.

Miami Dolphins: 7-6, Third AFC East

The Dolphins have looked better recently, but it may very well be too little, too late.

Oakland Raiders: 6-7, Third AFC West

Reports are indicating that head coach Tom Cable and offensive coordinator Hue Jackson have bashed heads all season which could unravel the team’s chemistry.

Houston Texans: 5-8, T-Third AFC South

The Texans always find a way to lose in heartbreaking fashion and it’s clear they have no intention of making the playoffs.

Tennessee Titans: 5-8, T-Third AFC South

The Titans are cooked and Randy Moss did absolutely nothing to help the team.

Dallas Cowboys: 4-9, Fourth NFC East

There’s no doubt that this is a brand new football team under Jason Garrett, but they were just too far in the hole to realistically dig themselves out.

Cleveland Browns: 5-8, Third AFC North

The Browns give the opposition a heck of a ride every 60 minutes, but they’re at least one marquee player away from making a serious playoff bid.

Minnesota Vikings: 5-8, Third NFC North

Brett Favre’s career could be over, and Tavaris Jackson didn’t do much on Monday night to inspire any confidence as the new starter.

Washington Redskins: 5-8, Third NFC East

The ‘Skins are an absolute mess, and the missed PAT to lose by a point this week is a perfect illustration of how the season has gone.

San Francisco 49ers: 5-8, Third NFC West

Believe it or not, the 49ers could still make the playoffs. Maybe Mike Singletary wasn’t that delusional, after all.

Seattle Seahawks: 6-7, T-First NFC West

The Seahawks might be tied for first place, but there’s not very much to be excited about here. Out of all the first place teams, by far the Seahawks have the least talent.

Buffalo Bills: 3-10, Fourth AFC East

The best three win team in recent memory, Chan Gailey has his boys playing the right way despite them being way out of contention.

Detroit Lions: 3-10, Fourth NFC North

A surprise win over the Packers gave their fans something to cheer about other than N’Damukong Suh.

Arizona Cardinals: 4-9, Fourth NFC West

The Cardinals blasted the Broncos this weekend, but that’s more a reflection on Denver than anything else.

Cincinnati Bengals: 2-11, Fourth AFC North

The nightmare season continues.

Denver Broncos: 3-10, Fourth AFC West

After inspiring so much confidence early in the season, the Broncos have crumbled and it seems their players are just about ready for the season to conclude.

Carolina Panthers: 1-12, Fourth NFC South

Calling all Carolina fans: Who are you taking with the number one pick?
