Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Advice: Who to Pick Up in Week 15

Bruno Boys Fantasy FootballDec 13, 2010

Looking for an edge in refining your roster for a playoff run? Take a look at our "Week 15 Waiver Wire Pick Them Ups" list for recommendations at each position that can help propel you to the fantasy football promised land.

Alex Smith (San Francisco 49ers)

Smith returned to the starting lineup in Week 14 against the Seattle Seahawks, and threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns in leading the 49ers to a victory.

He should hold onto the starting job now that he is healthy, but a fairly tough matchup is coming this Thursday night against the San Diego Chargers.  After that, though, he gets a couple of nice matchups against the St. Louis Rams and the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16 and 17.

If you are in a league that requires you to start two quarterbacks, Smith is certainly a worthy addition.  He is also worth consideration if you need some quarterback depth and your regular quarterback is a risk to be rested late in the season if his team clinches a playoffs spot.

Smith is available in 81 percent of Yahoo! leagues right now.

Tim Hightower (Arizona Cardinals)

Hightower had 18 carries for 148 yards and two touchdowns against the Denver Broncos in Week 14.

He now has 33 carries for 229 yards over the last two weeks and Hightower seems to be rendering Chris Wells useless to fantasy owners.

He gets a favorable matchup against the Carolina Panthers in Week 15, followed by games against the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers in Week 16 and 17. With rookie John Skelton under center, the Cardinals will likely want to feature the running game a bit more and Hightower stands to benefit.

He is definitely trending the right direction and is available in over half of Yahoo! leagues right now, but if you don't act quick you might not be able to roster the surging running back.

Kenny Britt (Tennessee Titans)

Britt returned to the Titans’ lineup in Week 14 against the Indianapolis Colts, and had four receptions (on eight targets) for 39 yards in the game as he started in place of Randy Moss.

The second year wideout appears to be healthy after missing five games with a hamstring issue, and will get some favorable matchups over the next few weeks.

The Titans will take on the Houston Texans and their 32nd-ranked pass defense in Week 15, followed by games against the Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts to close out the regular season.

Britt definitely has a lot of upside, and is currently available in 40 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Zach Miller (Oakland Raiders)

Miller re-emerged in Week 14 against the San Diego Chargers after being limited by a foot injury in recent weeks. The tight end had four catches (on five targets) for 68 yards in the game.

Miller may have been dropped in many leagues due to his recent injury issue and drop in production, however he gets a very favorable matchup against the Denver Broncos in Week 15 and should be able to reward fantasy owners who have hung onto him with a solid effort.

If you’re in a league where Miller happens to be available, he is definitely worth adding if only for this coming week.

Miller is currently owned in 66 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
