Brett Favre's Status
As anyone with an interest in professional sports will tell you, Brett Favre's streak of 297 consecutive games played is in jeopardy.
Favre, who's streak is the longest in NFL history, sprained the SC joint in his right shoulder last week against Buffalo.
Minnesota Vikings' head coach Leslie Frazier told ESPN.com's Adam Schefter of Favre's status, "Doubtful but sometimes you never know with him."
Favre was limited in practice throughout the week.
Metrodome Roof Collapse Update
Caught on stunning video tape, the roof of the Metrodome caved in early Sunday morning and forced the game to be moved to Detroit's Ford Field.
The inflatable roof collapsed after a harsh winter storm dumped more than 17 inches of snow on the city. Reportedly, this is the fourth time this has happened in Metrodome history.
Work had already begun on repairing the Metrodome's roof Sunday, but word has not yet been released on whether or not it will be ready for the Vikings' home game against Chicago next Monday.
The Trek to Ford Field
Given the unique situation caused by the roof collapse and game being moved to a city in which neither team plays, tickets for tonight's Vikings v. Giants game at Ford Field in Detroit were free to the public.
As could be expected, there was an overwhelming response to the tickets and they're no longer available.
In a news release, the Detroit Lions said, "The Detroit Lions have announced that due to the overwhelming response this morning for tickets to tonight’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants at Ford Field, tickets will no longer be distributed at the Ford Field Box Office. Anyone already holding a ticket to the Vikings-Giants game that was scheduled to be played in Minneapolis on Sunday will be admitted and given preferred seating in Detroit tonight."
Also, fans with tickets to yesterday's Lions v. Packers game are also being granted admission, although it's not guaranteed.
Capacity at Ford Field is 64,500, and seats that aren't guaranteed will be allotted on a first-come, first serve basis.
The scene from Detroit at 5:30 p.m. when doors to the stadium open will be interesting to see.
Hakeem Nicks Scheduled to Play
New York Giants' receiver Hakim Nicks underwent a minor procedure to heal a blood vessel issue in his left leg and is slated to return tonight.
Nicks was injured in Week 12 and will certainly be an added weapon for Eli Manning and the Giants in this highly-anticipated game.
Nicks has 62 catches for 800 yards, and nine touchdowns this season.
Where to Watch It
The unique timing and turnaround after the roof collapse has also wreaked havoc on the television and broadcasting schedule for tonight's Vikings v. Giants game.
The game will be televised regionally on Fox and broadcast on DirecTv's Sunday Ticket package. Regional broadcasts will be geared towards New York City and Albany, New York and Minneapolis/St. Paul, Rochester and Mankato, Minn.
Kickoff is at 7:20 p.m. ET.
The game is also slated to re-broadcast at midnight on the NFL Network.
