Fantasy Football: 5 QB Waiver Claims to Help Your Team for the Playoffs

Andrew RobesonDec 13, 2010

So your fantasy football season is wrapping up after a long year.

If you're lucky, the team you drafted is still mostly intact.

But if you're like me, over half of your team has been injured and you've assembled the best rag-tag group of players available.

Chances are if you lost a player, your quarterback was probably one of them.

Lucky for you I'm here to tell you what guys are likely to still be available and who can help you win your final games.

5. Jason Campbell

Campbell is owned in just 17 percent of leagues and he looked incredible this past weekend.

He threw to the tune of 324 yards and two touchdowns.

Games against Denver and Kansas City make him an attractive option.

4. Kerry Collins

I have my reservations about Kerry Collins as much as the next guy.

But the fact of the matter is he's available in 92 percent of leagues and he threw for three touchdowns this weekend with no interceptions.

The Titans trusted him to throw the ball, and he did it well.

Don't forget the Titans just got Kenny Britt back, too.

Are you willing to take the risk with Collins against Houston, Kansas City and Indianapolis?

3. Alex Smith

Did everyone in your league forget to take notice that Alex Smith came back from injury this week?

Smith was owned in only 20 percent of leagues when the weekend began, but that surely won't last long after his 255 yards passing, three touchdowns and zero interceptions.

I wouldn't want him next week against the Chargers, but he should have monster games against the Rams and Cardinals to finish the season.

If you need a quarterback, pounce on him!

2. Jon Kitna

Kitna has looked relatively good and consistent in his replacement of Tony Romo.

The remainder of his schedule looks ripe for some good numbers, but the problem is everyone in your league isn't as dumb as you think.

Kitna is already owned in 71 percent of leagues, so cross your fingers and go check the free-agent pool now.

1. David Garrard

David Garrard is the man I turned to when I lost both Kevin Kolb and Tony Romo.

He hasn't exactly single-handedly won me any games, but he hasn't lost me any either.

Garrard is probably the most consistent quarterback left out there, but he's only available in a quarter of leagues.
