Brett Favre: Why He's Loving Monday's Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Giants Game

Andrew RobesonDec 13, 2010

This story has everything Brett Favre loves, and he didn't even have to manufacture it.

First, there was the stranded New York Giants sitting in airports across the country as they tried to fight their way through a blizzard to get to Minnesota.

Well, that didn't happen, so the game was postponed a day.

Then as a winter storm continued to thrash Minnesota, something even crazier happened.

The roof at the Metrodome collapsed. Seriously, I hope that architect is no longer in the business.

Anyway, the NFL was forced to scramble to figure out another backup plan.

A game in Detroit at Ford Field—oh and they are going to give the tickets away for free too. Anyone else think that's a recipe for disaster?

At least the free ticket doesn't come with free beer, I suppose.

Somewhere Favre is snickering, thinking that he couldn't have planned this any better if he had written the script himself.

Drama. Uncertainty. Indecision. It has all the ingredients of your typical Favre story.

And of course at the center of it is the question of whether Favre will play in the game. His sore shoulder was reportedly going to keep him out of Sunday's game.

Will another 30 hours affect that decision?

My gut says that of course it will, because it is Favre. Favre's streak of consecutive games will be one of his longest lasting legacies, and I doubt he's ready to let it end.

This game has suddenly become the talk of the NFL, and you better believe that Favre will want to to be at the center of it.

Even if Favre just plays the first series, I bet he starts.

Another reason to believe Favre will likely play?

Well, because he texted a USA Today reporter that he wasn't playing. And we all know to believe the opposite of what Favre tells us.
