Miami Dolphins (Dolphins Schedule)

Opponent Defensive Ranks

New York Jets Pass Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 14th - TDs Allowed T-18th

New York Jets Rush Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 3rd – TDs Allowed T-12th

Miami Offensive Cast

Chad Henne (QB Week 14 Ranking: Not ranked)

2010 Season: 228/367 – for 2,621 yards & 12 TDs

Henne struggles away from home, plus he’s facing the Jets.  You do the math.

Ronnie Brown (RB Week 14 Ranking: Not ranked)

2010 Season: 156 carries for 589 yards & 3 TDs || 23 receptions for 166 yards & 0 TDs

The Jets rush D is too good to depend on the Dolphins running backs in this game.  Look elsewhere.

Ricky Williams (RB Week 14 Ranking: Not ranked)

2010 Season: 122 carries for 544 yards & 2 TDs || 12 receptions for 86 yards & 1 TD

See Ronnie Brown.

Brandon Marshall (WR Week 14 Ranking: Not ranked)

2010 Season: 58 receptions for 693 yards & 1 TD

Marshall will be back healthy this week, but he’ll be facing off against a healthy Darrelle Revis.  He had an awesome game in the first match-up (10 catches, 166 yards & one TD), but don’t expect even close to those numbers as those stats came with Revis out of the lineup.

Davone Bess (WR Week 14 Ranking: No. 44)

2010 Season: 61 receptions for 667 yards & 3 TDs

Bess did well in the Dolphins first match-up with the Jets this year posting 86 yards on six catches.  However, I just don’t see that happening this time around.  He might end up with average numbers by the end of the game, but my guess is that the Jets let out a little anger on Miami this Sunday and hold Miami to a low score.

Brian Hartline (WR Week 14 Ranking: Not ranked)

2010 Season: 43 receptions for 615 yards & 1 TD

Hartline was put on season-ending injured reserve earlier this week.  Drop him immediately.

Anthony Fasano (TE Week 14 Ranking: Not ranked)

2010 Season: 32 receptions for 434 yards & 4 TDs

Fasano isn’t involved enough in the offense to be worth taking a chance on.

New York Jets (Jets Schedule)

Opponent Defensive Ranks

Miami Pass Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 4th - TDs Allowed T-7th

Miami Rush Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 9th – TDs Allowed T-7th

New York Jets Offensive Cast

Mark Sanchez (QB Week 14 Ranking: Not ranked)

2010 Season: 218/397 – for 2,636 yards & 16 TDs

Did anybody happen to catch how terrible Sanchez looked last week?  I’ll give the reason why… IT WAS FREEZING OUT THERE!  It’s obvious that Sanchez hates playing in the cold.  Either that or he’s just no good in it.  His passes seemed to be flying all over the place, and all too often into the opposing team’s hands.  This week he’ll be playing at home but with the possibility of rain or snow, his outlook doesn’t look much better.  The Jets will likely turn to their offensive line and run the ball up the Dolphins yahoo all day long, especially with Miami sporting one of the better pass D’s so far this year.

LaDainian Tomlinson (RB Week 14 Ranking: No. 29)

2010 Season: 176 carries for 788 yards & 5 TDs || 47 receptions for 343 yards & 0 TDs

LT21 is splitting carries right down the middle with Shonn Greene right now in an effort to keep him fresh for the playoffs.  Tomlinson's production will tend to be on the light side going forward.  That said, he brings the ability to be lethal because he’s also the third-down back in most situations and doesn’t come out around the goal-line.  He’s not the worst play in the world for you this week, but I’d have a hard time depending on him this late in the fantasy season seeing how the distribution of carries in New York has been going lately.

Shonn Greene (RB Week 14 Ranking: Not ranked)

2010 Season: 153 carries for 639 yards & 1 TD || 10 receptions for 72 yards & 0 TDs

Greene will likely get around 15-20 carries in this game but won't find the endzone.  With only one TD on the year and no real pass-catching skills to speak of, it’s tough for me to suggest using him this weekend.

Santonio Holmes (WR Week 14 Ranking: No. 18)

2010 Season: 39 receptions for 563 yards & 4 TDs

The Good:  Holmes has obviously become Sanchize’s favorite receiver and is getting a massive amount of looks from him every game, a trend that figures to continue in this contest against the Dolphins.  The Bad:  Sanchez looks extremely uncomfortable passing the ball in the cold weather.   With this contest coming in the Meadowlands instead of down in sunny Miami, those targets could be flying five feet over Santonio’s head.

Braylon Edwards (WR Week 14 Ranking: No. 33)

2010 Season: 37 receptions for 657 yards & 6 TDs

The old Braylon showed up last Monday night by showing everybody that he still has the ability to drop everything in sight.  He really seems to hate playing in the cold, so being at home this weekend won’t do him any favors.  The Dolphins have been one of the best teams against the pass this year, so my guess is that with the northern weather being what it is, the Jets will go back to depending on their offensive line to open up holes for LT21 and Shonn Greene all day long.

Jerricho Cotchery (WR Week 14 Ranking: Not ranked)

2010 Season: 31 receptions for 324 yards & 2 TDs

Two or three catches won’t do your fantasy team any favors.

Dustin Keller (TE Week 14 Ranking: Not ranked)

2010 Season: 42 receptions for 555 yards & 5 TDs

If Keller couldn’t do it against the Patriots last week, he won’t be able to put up much against one of the better defenses at defending tight ends this year.
