Fantasy Football Week 14 Rankings: Wide Receiver Matchups To Exploit

Bruno Boys Fantasy FootballDec 10, 2010

With your fantasy football season on the line, the time is now to make sure you are starting the perfect lineup.  Take a look at our wide receiver matchups to exploit to find out which guys you must start in Week 14.

Greg Jennings (Green Bay Packers) @ Detroit

Another week, another monster game for Jennings, who hauled in six receptions for 122 yards and two touchdowns against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13.

Jennings has been putting up ridiculous numbers lately with 18 receptions for 393 yards and five touchdowns over the last three games.

The Detroit Lions haven’t been bad against the pass most of the year, but in the last three games they have shown cracks in the foundation, allowing seven touchdowns to the wide receiver position.

Expect Jennings and the rest of the Green Bay Packers offense to continue to cook.

Jeremy Maclin (Philadelphia Eagles) @ Dallas

Maclin had five receptions for 68 yards against the Houston Texans on Thursday night.

The Philadelphia Eagles employed a balanced offensive attack to move the chains, rushing for 115 yards and passing for 302 yards. Four wide receivers had at least three receptions. Maclin was tied for the team lead in targets (eight) with running back LeSean McCoy.

The Philadelphia Eagles roll into Dallas against a Dallas Cowboys team that has allowed 802 receiving yards and five touchdowns to the wide receiver position this season.

Maclin is a great start this week.

Miles Austin (Dallas Cowboys) vs. Philadelphia

Austin had four receptions for 47 yards against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 12.  He has only 11 receptions over the past four games, but has three touchdowns in that stretch.

Right now Austin’s real value lies in the red zone, where he has been targeted 12 times this season.

The Philadelphia Eagles have allowed 12 touchdowns to the wide receiver position, so Austin has a chance to find a score. He should also benefit some from the loss of Dez Bryant.

Plus, the Cowboys will have to score points to keep up with the Eagles, so Austin should be in your playoff lineup this week.

Wes Welker (New England Patriots) @ Chicago

The good times continue to roll for Welker owners.  The New England Patriots slot machine looks every bit as good as he was last year, hauling in seven receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown.

He has shown the last three weeks that he isn’t only useful in PPR leagues with four touchdowns in that span.

The Chicago Bears have been tough on wide receivers this season, allowing only 17 fantasy points, but they have allowed 11 receptions per game this season to the position.

Even with the weather expected to be back on Sunday, as long as the Patriots offense continues to bulldoze opponents, Welker is a threat to score every week.
