WWE Counters TNA With a Takeover Of Its Own! A New Era Is Here!

The PG era has been overtaken.

And in it's place is something that no one in the Internet Wrestling Community wants to see.

The Sports Entertainment era. As Matt Striker casually says, "Some people forget what that second W in WWE stands for." Too bad that those people are the ones booking the shows.

There was even a moment on Smackdown a few weeks ago when Micheal Cole made a point that the guys we were watching in the ring were not wrestlers, but superstars.

That's when I came to the conclusion that gone are the days of technical wrestling masterpieces, and here are the days of endless skits starring Guest hosts and the Bella twins. Gone are the twenty minute one on one matches on Raw, and here come the many multi-man matches.

We even have a poster boy for the era already. Of course the Attitude era was ruled by the likes of Stone Cold and The Rock. Then came the Ruthless Aggression era that John Cena and Batista were the faces of. The PG Era of John Cena and Randy Orton.

Then there's now, the Sports Entertainment era that is ushered in by none other than your WWE Champion- The Miz.

I for one will go on record as saying that I like The Miz as WWE Champion. He's a new face in a very stale main event scene. Miz detractors are saying "He can't wrestle" and "He sucks". But the point is- The Miz can entertain. What we have to realize is there are no perfect superstars. Everybody has flaws in their game, some more than others, but still every single wrestler has his or her flaws. The Miz is an entertainer, and he's simply doing what he's supposed to be doing. Ushering in the Sports Entertainment era.

Also helping him was the crowning of the new Tag Team Champions, Santino and Kozlov. Both very talented wrestlers, but that are used as purely a comedy team at best. Sports Entertainment at its finest.

This era has moved in under the radar. One day we had our wrestlers, the next day we have Superstars. One day one of the best overall talents of this generation is the champion (Orton) and the next second his rein is cut short by a former reality TV show star (Miz).

So to the many who despised the PG era, say so long because it's long gone! But have you ever heard to be careful what you wish for, because here in its place is the Sports Entertainment era.
