Rey Mysterio Jr: Is This Latest Injury a Sign For Him To Retire?

Jack WindhamDec 10, 2010

Not surprisingly, Rey Mysterio is injured once again.

It no longer feels like news whenever Mysterio is injured. It's become as expected as the sun rising in the east every morning.

In fact, you start wondering which number is higher—Jerry Lawler's title reigns or Mysterio's injuries?

As a man, your main job in life is to provide for your family.

You're the one who is responsible for making sure that they receive the best life possible.

Mysterio is definitely a family man and in that sense it's obviously not easy for him to walk away from a job that pays him more than enough money to provide for his wife and kids.

However, if he doesn't retire soon, it seems more than likely that he'll be carried away from wrestling as opposed to walking away from it.

Wrestling takes a toll on the body.

Look at every wrestler who has been fortunate enough to have lived past the age of 50.

Their bodies ache constantly, and at the rate he's going, Mysterio is well on the path to where he's going to be feeling pain for the rest of his life.

Mysterio has purposely slowed down his matches over the last few years.

He's not anywhere near the brilliant performer that he was when he worked in WCW.

Fortunately for him, there are a lot of fans that can overlook that fact.

Slowing down has been a smart move for Mysterio, but slamming on the brakes might be the best move he ever makes.
