Live Results: UFC 124 Weigh-Ins
Fans eagerly piled into the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on Friday to see fighters pass the final hurdle in preparation for UFC 124 on Saturday night.
In the main event, Welterweight kingpin Georges St. Pierre will defend his UFC Welterweight Title against top ranked contender Josh Koscheck.
As expected, Koscheck was greeted at the weigh-ins on Friday with a chorus of boos before tipping the scales at 169 pounds. The partisan crowd didn’t seem to bother the anointed blonde-headed villain as he grinned boastfully and encouraged the reaction.
"[Addressing the boos] That’s it? Come on! Thanks for the welcome. I plan on putting on a hell of a show tomorrow night," said Koscheck. "It all comes down to 25 minutes that me and Georges get to fight. The talk is over. Thanks for the boos. We’ll see tomorrow night when I put Georges St. Pierre to sleep."
St. Pierre received a hero’s welcome when he stepped onto the scale. Fans love him everywhere, but the hometown response from Canadian fans was like no other. St. Pierre weighed in at an even 170 pounds. With all the talk in the rear-view mirror, GSP can now focus on silencing Koscheck permanently.
"I guarantee you the bully will get bullied tomorrow night," St. Pierre stated. "I’m going to fight smart. He tried to take me off track, that’s what he wants, but I’m not going to do it. I’m going to kick his ass tomorrow."
All of the other fighters were on weight, including Thiago Alves. "The Pitbull" looked to be in great shape for his anticipated showdown with John "Doomsday" Howard.
