Super Bowl Predictions: 5 Dream Match-Ups and a Real Prediction

James EvensDec 9, 2010

As we near the end of the NFL season, it is time to start looking at possible Super Bowl match-ups.  This season will feature some new faces in the play-offs and some regulars missing out on the party known as the play-offs.

One team that is on the verge of missing the play-offs for the first time since 2001 is the Indianapolis Colts.  Without the Colts the play-offs would just seem dull, but they still have a shot at getting in.

Here are a few dream match-ups for the big game.

I mean who wouldn't want to see this match-up.  It would mean big business for the NFL, and that is a definite truth.  If the city with the largest market had both of it's team playing in the Super Bowl it might be the most successful in history.

Just as the title of this article says however, this is just a dream, and it's going to be tough to even get one of these teams into the Super Bowl.

Chicago Vs Pittsburgh

This would be one hard hitting football game.  With both of these historic teams playing some of the toughest football in the NFL, this would be one to watch for the defensive minded audience.

The linebackers would own this one and own all the hype.

On another note, the NFL would probably benefit monetarily in this match-up too because James Harrison will be playing.

St. Louis Vs Kansas City

Yeah, I said it.

this match-up would be totally different for the NFL.  Having two teams that basically had no one predicting to be in the Super Bowl make it would be one big story.

The only question is, who would be the underdog?

This would be one heck of a match-up pitting two of the top quarterbacks in the league against each-other in a Super Bowl match-up.

Who would have the edge in this one?

I guess you would have to give it to the Patriots as they have been playing extremely well this season, but no one should ever count out Breesus.

New England Vs Atlanta

Does Atlanta even have a NFL team anymore?  Oh yeah, they have the team that is tied for the best record in the league.

The Falcons are flying under the radar this season and have gotten very little attention from the media.  They have quietly been one of the best teams in the NFL this season though.

Who wouldn't want to see the two best teams in the NFL face off?

Reality Check: New England Vs Philadelphia

This is my pick for the Super Bowl this season.  Both of these teams have been playing inspired football, and it's time for the Eagles to win their first Super Bowl.

Imagine the headlines if Michael Vick was able to overcome all the diversity and become a Super Bowl champion.  It would mean big news for the city and the Eagles franchise.

Meanwhile the Patriots are playing the best football in the league right now and have a serious shot at making it, whoever they might face.
