NFL Picks Week 14: Predicting Outcomes For Every Game
It is Week 14 in the NFL and the playoffs are starting to look a little bit clearer.
Tom Brady and the Patriots took sole possession of first place in the AFC East with a crushing 45-3 win over the New York Jets to prove they are the best team in the NFL.
Surprise teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs continue to prove that they are for real while the disappointing Indianapolis Colts have lost three in a row.
The next three weeks are going to be huge for those in the playoff hunt.
Here are the picks for Week 14 in the NFL.
Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans
1 of 16
After losing three in a row, this is the week the Colts get back on track.
Peyton Manning has thrown three interceptions, three weeks in a row; very uncharacteristic of the future Hall of Fame inductee.
At 6-6, the Colts have a Thursday night matchup with the Titans in which they will end their three-game skid.
Prediction: Colts 31, Titans 17
Cleveland Browns @ Buffalo Bills
2 of 16
The Browns have won two in a row and have momentum heading into Buffalo this Sunday.
The Bills have the worst rush defense in the NFL; a perfect matchup for Browns' running back Peyton Hillis, who is having a phenomenal year.
After being held in check in Week 13, Hillis should carry the Browns in a win over the Bills
Prediction: Browns 20, Bills 14
Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers
3 of 16
The Falcons are 10-2 and first in the NFC South. The Falcons are coming off two big wins over the Packers and the Buccaneers, so the Panthers should not be a threat for them.
The Panthers are 1-11 and in dead last in the NFC South.
Expect Matt Ryan and the Falcons to win big.
Prediction: Falcons 34, Panthers 10
Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers
4 of 16
The Bengals have been the biggest disappointment this season and they blew another game in Week 13 against the Saints.
The Steelers are coming off a big win against the Ravens that took sole possession of first place in the AFC North.
Big Ben and the Steelers should win this one easily.
Prediction: Steelers 28, Bengals 13
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Washington Redskins
5 of 16
The Buccaneers are hungry for a bounce back win after they blew a 10-point lead in Week 13 against the Falcons.
They will definitely have their chance this week in Washington.
The Redskins have been struggling all season and have not been able to find a rhythm.
The Bucs will get back on track this Sunday.
Prediction: Buccaneers 24, Redskins 17
Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions
6 of 16
Every week is a must-win for the Packers as they remain one game behind the Bears in the NFC North.
This is a huge game for the Packers to capitalize on because the Bears have a tough game at home against the Patriots. If the Packers can beat the Lions and the Bears lose, they will be right back to being tied with their division rivals.
The Packers should have no problem with the 2-10 Lions this week.
Prediction: Packers 35, Lions 24
New York Giants @ Minnesota Vikings
7 of 16
The question of the week remains: is Brett Favre healthy enough to play?
Well, the New York Giants don't care because they are focusing on the NFC East title.
Tied with the Eagles for first place, every game is crucial for the Giants because a wild card birth may be tough in the NFC.
Whether it is Tarvaris Jackson or Brett Favre, i expect the Giants to win this one.
Prediction: Giants 27, Vikings 17
Oakland Raiders @ Jacksonville Jaguars
8 of 16
The Oakland Raiders are coming off one of their biggest wins of the season while the Jaguars are surprisingly in first place of the AFC South.
The Raiders won a huge divisional game last Week against the Chargers, 28-13.
If the Raiders can carry that momentum into this Sunday, I expect them to win in Jacksonville
Prediction: Raiders 26, Jaguars 21
St. Louis Rams @ New Orleans Saints
9 of 16
The Rams are 6-6 and in first place of the NFC West.
Granted, the NFC West is a weak division, but the Rams deserve credit as they are a far more improved team from 2009.
However, they travel to New Orleans this Sunday to take on the Saints, an extremely tough task.
The Saints offense will be overwhelming for the Rams.
Prediction: Saints 30, Rams 21
Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers
10 of 16
As unbelievable as it may sound, the 49ers are still alive in the NFC West, and this Sunday is a huge game for them.
The Niners are two games out of first place and if they defeat the Seahawks this Sunday, they would be one game back, if the Rams lose as well.
This is my upset of the week.
Prediction: 49ers 21, Seahawks 17
New England Patriots @ Chicago Bears
11 of 16
The Patriots are riding high after their crushing 45-3 victory over the New York Jets on Monday night.
The Patriots are the best team in the NFL, but they travel to Chicago to take on the impressive Bears.
The Bears are winners of their last five, but that streak ends this Sunday as the Patriots are just as hot.
Prediction: Patriots 28, Bears 23
Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets
12 of 16
Many have to wonder: did Monday's loss take the life out of the Jets, or will they have short memory and bounce back?
The Jets need this game to either stay one game behind the Patriots or to be tied with them pending on the outcome of the Patriot's matchup.
I expect the Jets to bounce back against Miami this week.
Prediction: Jets 24, Dolphins 16
Denver Broncos @ Arizona Cardinals
13 of 16
The Broncos have fired Josh McDaniels and may be that is exactly what they need to find a spark on the football field.
Both the Broncos and Cardinals are coming off losses and both teams having struggled all season.
The Cardinals instability at the quarterback position will be the deciding factor in this game as Kyle Orton and the Broncos will come out on top.
Prediction: Broncos 21, Cardinals 13
Kansas City Chiefs @ San Diego Chargers
14 of 16
In another big AFC West matchup, the Chargers are in a must-win situation after their shocking loss at home to the Oakland Raiders.
The Chiefs beat the Chargers in Week 1, but San Diego gets redemption in Week 14 as they are desperate for a win.
The Chargers will make things interesting in the AFC West after a victory over the Chiefs.
Prediction: Chargers 31, Chiefs 24
Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys
15 of 16
The Eagles better not take the Cowboys lightly, as they have won three of their last four games.
The Cowboys are coming off a shocking 38-35 overtime win over the Colts while the Eagles took out the Texans last Thursday 34-24.
Michael Vick continues to play at an MVP level and he will continue to do so this Sunday.
Prediction: Eagles 27, Cowboys 20
Baltimore Ravens @ Houston Texans
16 of 16
After a a disappointing loss to the Steelers last Sunday night, the Ravens have a big Monday night matchup ahead of them in the Houston Texans.
The Texans have the worst pass defense in the league, so Joe Flacco should have a field day on Monday night.
The Ravens need this one to stay one game behind the Steelers.
Prediction: Ravens 34, Texans 21
