Week 14 Pickups and Dumps
By Roger Chu
This week’s pickups consists of three guys who didn’t become fantasy stars instantly after an injury; they are guys who struggled and flew under the radar until now.
Sidney Rice returned from an injury, Christopher Ivory played well when his teammates were injured and Jonathan Stewart did a combination of the two.
Pickups
Sidney Rice - Minnesota Vikings - WR
Rice’s return may be too little too late for the Vikings, but not too late for fantasy football.
He scored two touchdowns with 105 yards on Sunday.
Christopher Ivory - New Orleans Saints - RB
According to Saints head coach Sean Payton, Ivory will continue to have the same workload despite the eventual return of running back Pierre Thomas.
Ivory had five touchdowns in his last three games.
Jonathan Stewart - Carolina Panthers - RB
Stewart has racked up back-to-back 90-plus yard games.
With running backs DeAngelo Williams and Mike Goodson injured, Stewart could have the breakout game that fantasy players have been waiting for all season.
Tim Hightower - Had 81 yards on 15 carries last week.
Today's report says Shelton will replace Derek Anderson to start at QB this week, that can be good or bad for Hightower.
There are couple things going Hightower's way: Shelton moved the ball well subbing for DA last game and an easy schedule for next three games (DEN, CAR, DAL)
Honorable Mentions
Dumps
Eddie Royal - Denver Broncos - WR
Royal missed the Week 13 Dumps with 74 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 12, but came back down to Earth in Week 13, with only seven receiving yards.
Visanthe Shiancoe - Minnesota Vikings - TE
Shiancoe had 106 yards and zero touchdowns in his last four games, which means you were almost better off starting Dallas Clark or Jermichael Finley.
Reggie Bush - New Orleans Saints - RB
With two fumbles in the four games he has played, Bush is dropping the ball literally.
Feel free to get rid of him like he’s a tainted Heisman Trophy.
