Albert Haynesworth: 10 Most Likely 2011 Destinations for Disgruntled Star

Brian DiTullioDec 7, 2010

Albert Haynesworth officially has worn out his welcome in Washington, getting the Keyshawn Johnson treatment for the last four games of the season.

When a player says one thing and does another, though, this outcome really shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody.

So where will Haynesworth end up next?

Difficult to say, except for one team, but you'll have to read on to find out which team is the most obvious choice.

And before anyone says his career is over, just remember Terrell Owens and Randy Moss keep getting new chances with new teams despite the drama they bring along with them. To be fair, though, Owens hasn't been the drama queen this year he has been in the past.

So let's take a look around the league to see where Haynesworth might end up.

10. Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings took a chance on Randy Moss, and now Brad Childress is gone, so there's no reason they won't take a chance on Haynesworth.

The Vikings have the 4-3 scheme Haynesworth wants to play in, and owner Zygi Wilf will like what Haynesworth has to bring to the field.

Assuming he shows up.

9. Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals defense needs to be completely rebuilt, and Arizona has to consider every option going forward, including Haynesworth.

When Haynesworth plays, he's very good. The key this year is that he didn't want to play for Mike Shanahan and hasn't been professional enough to deal with the personality conflict.

8. Chicago Bears

The Bears have an elite defense, it's the kind of defense Haynesworth would enjoy playing in, and the Bears would love to have a talent like Haynesworth on that line.

You know, provided he shows up.

7. Denver Broncos

Owner Pat Bowlen has to completely rebuild the team from the ground up, so anything is possible at this point.

No one knows what kind of defensive scheme the Broncos will implement next year, so there's no reason to think they won't find something Haynesworth will be motivated to practice and play.

6. Detroit Lions

The  Lions are in the middle of a pretty big rebuilding project. With the drafts of the last two years, plus the upcoming draft, Haynesworth could end up being that missing free-agent piece the Lions need to bring it all together.

The Lions run Haynesworth's scheme and could definitely use him on their line.

5. Houston Texans

The Texans, like the Cardinals, are going to have to rebuild their defense in the offseason, so Haynesworth would be a welcome addition to the team's base 4-3 scheme.

The Texans play in warm weather, so that could be additional motivation for Haynesworth, who needs reasons beyond money to show up. He's weird that way.

4. Indianapolis Colts

With the Colts' season rapidly falling apart, Indianapolis will look at everything in the offseason to fix what went wrong.

Haynesworth would have a place on the Colts' line in that scheme alongside Dwight Freeney. It sounds good in theory.

In theory, I stress.

3. New Orleans Saints

The Saints just won a Super Bowl, but that doesn't mean the team isn't always trying to improve itself.

On paper, Haynesworth would bring improvement to the Saints defense.

Of course, there's always a difference between stats and reality, but on paper it looks good.

2. Oakland Raiders

If there's any team that will take a chance on Haynesworth, it's Al Davis and the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have never met a problem child they didn't think they could work with.

The Raiders use the 4-3 scheme, so it could work.

1. Tennessee Titans

Then there's the Titans.

Haynesworth has not been shy about saying how much he misses the Titans organization and Jeff Fisher. The Titans couldn't match the Redskins' contract offer a few years ago, and Haynesworth followed the money.

The Titans certainly would like him back now, and a good chunk of money on his huge contract now has been paid, so it wouldn't cripple the Titans' salary cap either.

Look for Haynesworth to return to Tennessee because that's where he wants to play, and the Titans may be the only team who can work with him at this point.
