Barcelona's Midfield General Xavi: Rightful Owner of The Ballon D'or 2010

At 5ft 7in tall, Xavi is no superhero. All he does is hit passes, left to right, up and down tormenting opposition defenses. Very few people around the world would argue against using the word genius to describe this talented midfielder. 

Xavi, is conceivably the star to Barcelona's midfield dominance. He had more assists last season than any other player in Europe's top leagues and runs an average 12.5km every game. At Barcelona they call him "maqu"—the machine. 

The key factor that dictates his style is his clarity of thought. A calm mind allows him to process information quickly and well. His options fall out clearly and decision making becomes extremely easy. 

He is surely one of the toughest oppositions to deal with. He doesn't do flamboyant tricks, he doesn't try for improbable passes. His passing is sublime, simple and to the point. You wont see many back-flicks. he doesn't run at defenses and he doesn't make too many mistakes. What you will see is precision, control and vision. How do you deal with that?

It isn't his ability to find teammates that makes him dangerous. It is his ability to do so for 90 minutes, without tiring, which makes him lethal.
