Champions League Preview, Group C: Dec. 7, 2010
Man Utd vs. Valencia, kickoff time 20:45 CET
Both these sides have already made it through to the next round and unless Valencia win at Old Trafford then United will finish at the top of the group. Meetings between these two sides have quite often ended in draws, in the seven competitive meetings between them four of the matches have ended as draws, with United winning two to Valencia’s one.
The opposing fixture to this, a few weeks ago, was nothing short of dismal, there were only three shots on target throughout the entire match, and with United playing for a draw, don’t hold your breath if you were hoping for things to be different this time around. The Devils could actually be the first team to get through the group stages without conceding a goal.
Valencia have only lost one of their last seven away games in the Champions League and judging by the last meeting between these two sides, they will probably not be worsening that record. This may well be a very boring match looking at the way the two teams have been playing.
Bursaspor vs. Rangers, kickoff time 20:45 CET
This group is completely wrapped up, at least as far as these two sides are concerned, there is no way that either of these two teams can move position. Although, from a pride prospective, there is something to be played for as far as the home team is concerned, they are currently sat one zero points and nobody wants to leave the Champions League without at least picking up a single point.
Rangers have only won one of their last 15 Champion’s League matches and it was against Bursaspor and not all that long ago, Rangers are a better team, if they field a full side then they should win this match even if it is away from home. Rangers have been a little lack lustre going forward, they’ve only scored six goals in their last 12 Champions League games.
