Joey Barton : A Player Who Could've Been So Much More But..He Never Was!

Have you ever heard of Joey Barton?

Well, you've probably heard of him due to his prison charge for assault and affray or because of his ruthless training ground attack on Ousmane Dabo.

I for one, think that Joey Barton has got a tremendous amount of potential, he's got loads of talent.

Kill me if you want, but that's just my opinion.

Born and brought up where young lads turned into thieves, Football gave Joey Barton a new life and what did he do with it?

I remember watching him strike an unbelievable volley into the top corner for Manchester City against Wigan, back in December 2005. It was a quite an extraordinary strike but all of his goals have been overshadowed by his terrible behaviour.

Yes, he's made mistakes, but he's never learned from any of them. He's got a terrible attitude problem. I was all for giving him a second chance, but now I don't think he will become any better.

Personally, I still believe he had the potential to start for England but right now, I'm not even kidding myself.

However, showing your rear end to supporters is never the mark of a legend.

He's thrown his life away, he's thrown his career away.

I'm pretty sure, he's one those lads who around ten years from now, when it's all over, will be sitting all alone in pub, thinking "Only If I had....."

Congratulations Joey, You had great talent but you threw it all away! They say "everybody deserves a second chance" but for you, it will be like a hundred chances, I truly think you have an amazing ability but you are what they call: Good for Nothing.

Big Sam believed in your talent, he brought you over to Newcastle from Manchester City, where you were in all kinds of trouble, but you never learned, and the rest as they say, is history..
