Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs: Chiefs Out for Revenge Against Broncos
The Kansas City Chiefs remember the last meeting against the Denver Broncos and they are out to make sure it doesn’t happen again this time around. The latest NFL Odds posted by BetEd.com are a bit surprising considering that the Chiefs were manhandled by the Broncos in their first encounter.
The game was just three week ago but it is still fresh in the mind of the Chiefs and their fan base. The Chiefs never had a chance as they headed into Denver. The Broncos won 49-29 and piled up the points on the lifeless Chiefs. Things got so bad that Chiefs Coach Todd Haley refused to shake Broncos Coach Josh McDaniels’ hand afterward. Haley later apologized, but it was obvious that he felt the Broncos ran up the score.

The Broncos were up 35-0 at one point. Quaterback Kyle Orton had a career-high four touchdown passes, Tim Tebow threw his first touchdown in the NFL and running back Knowshon Moreno broke 100 yards for the first time in his career. The Broncos beat the Chiefs with a taste of their own medicine as the Broncos rushed for 153 yards and the Chiefs just 51 on the day.
That was then and this is now.
The Chiefs are at home for the rematch where they have one of the league's strongest home field advantages and are 5-0 on the season. The Chiefs have outscored opponents 138-67 at Arrowhead Stadium and are playing some really good football heading into this game.
Matt Cassel has thrown 12 touchdown passes in the month of November and his passer rating is 111.2. Dwayne Bowe has caught 49 passes for 733 yards and 13 TDs in his past seven games and has emerged as one of the better wide receivers in the game today.
The rushing game for the Chiefs is still recognized as one of the best attacks in all of football and is led by a two-headed monster in Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones.
The Broncos are struggling and recently lost at home to the surprising St. Louis Rams. Off the field there is the videotaping violation that cost McDaniels a $50,000 fine for failing to report it, and his seat could be getting warm in Denver as the fans are losing patience.
The Broncos are 16-34-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 51 against the AFC, 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 against the AFC West and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall. The home team is 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 meetings and the Broncos are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 meetings in Kansas City.
The Chiefs will act like this game is not about revenge, but their play on the field this Sunday will show just how badly they want to win and win big.
Chiefs -9.5
