Denver Broncos (Broncos Schedule)
Opponent Defensive Ranks
Kansas City Pass Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 24th - TDs Allowed T-18th
Kansas City Rush Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game seventh – TDs Allowed T-eighth
Denver Offensive Cast
Kyle Orton (QB Week 13 Ranking: No. 4)
2010 Season: 265/429 – for 3,370 yards and 20 TDs
It doesn’t really matter if the Donkeys are winning or losing, Orton will put up some pretty awesome fantasy numbers for you regardless of the final score. However, the best part about Orton’s game at this point is that awful Denver defense.
The more points they allow (last in the league at 29.4/game), the more points Orton is forced to get, and the Chiefs happen to be the fourth-highest scoring offense in the league…WOOHOO!!!
Knowshon Moreno (RB Week 13 Ranking: No. 11)
2010 Season: 123 carries for 472 yards and four TDs || 28 receptions for 301 yards and three TDs
Moreno is a touchdown machine. He now has seven total TDs in eight games this year and five in his last five games.
In the game against the Chiefs three weeks ago, Moreno rattled off the only 100-yard game of his career while putting up 156 total yards and a TD. Sounds like a winner play to me.
Lance Ball (RB Week 13 Ranking: Not ranked)
2010 Season: Seven carries for 41 yards and no TDs || No receptions
Looks like Ball has taken over for Buckhalter as the change-of-pace back, which doesn’t really mean a thing on this team.
Correll Buckhalter (RB Week 13 Ranking: Not ranked)
2010 Season: 39 carries for 94 yards and one TD || 19 receptions for 124 yards and one TD
The Buck pretty much stops here. Even if Moreno were to go down for the season, he'd still be useless. Drop him immediately.
Brandon Lloyd (WR Week 13 Ranking: No. 1)
2010 Season: 58 receptions for 1,122 yards and nine TDs
The surprising Broncos receiver had 90 yards and two TDs in his last game against these guys.
CB Brandon Flowers didn't cover Lloyd the last time around, but even if the Chiefs young stud cornerback is healthy enough to play, his hamstring wouldn’t be able to keep up with Lloyd if he did.
Eddie Royal (WR Week 13 Ranking: No. 47)
2010 Season: 51 receptions for 552 yards and three TDs
Royal had his best game since Week 4 last weekend, grabbing six balls for 74 yards and a touchdown. The consistency isn’t quite there to be able to trust him, but if you’re in a fix, go ahead and take a chance.
Jabar Gaffney (WR Week 13 Ranking: No. 38)
2010 Season: 54 receptions for 665 yards and two TDs
Gaffney is an up-and-down receiver with no rhyme or reason to his game, but he did catch a TD in the last game against these guys, and you can bet that Orton will be tossing up a good 40-plus balls again this Sunday.
Eric Decker (WR Week 13 Ranking: Not ranked)
2010 Season: Two receptions for 48 yards and no TDs
With Demaryius Thomas out, rookie Eric Decker is getting a little playing time, but not enough to consider a fantasy threat.
Daniel Graham (TE Week 13 Ranking: Not ranked)
2010 Season: 15 receptions for 104 yards and no TDs
Graham now has a catch in two weeks straight. I am now thoroughly impressed.
Kansas City Chiefs (Chiefs Schedule)
Opponent Defensive Ranks
Denver Pass Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 20th - TDs Allowed T-30th
Denver Rush Defense – 2010: Yards Allowed/Game 30th – TDs Allowed 32nd
Kansas City Offensive Cast
Matt Cassel (QB Week 13 Ranking: No. 11)
2010 Season: 195/323 – for 2,307 yards and 22 TDs
Fact is, Cassel is actually becoming somewhat of a dependable fantasy QB, though I’m not entirely sure if it’s because he’s gotten better as a player or because Dwayne Bowe has become a monster.
Whatever the case, he now has TD passes in seven straight games with multiple scores in six of them. He also has only four INTs on the year if that matters in your league.
Jamaal Charles (RB Week 13 Ranking: No. 1)
2010 Season: 161 carries for 1,021 yards and three TDs || 32 receptions for 359 yards and one TD
Charles said after last week’s game that he feels as good as he’s felt all year and that it feels like the season is just starting. If this is true, then look out fantasy world, ‘cause ‘The Ostrich’ is about to go a little nutty.
Thomas Jones (RB Week 13 Ranking: No. 22)
2010 Season: 176 carries for 712 yards and five TDs || Eight receptions for 54 yards and no TDs
Jones has done well enough throughout the season to be played in most weeks, but his time is running short. You might be able to start him one last time this week against an awful Denver D.
Dwayne Bowe (WR Week 13 Ranking: No. 2)
2010 Season: 58 receptions for 885 yards and 14 TDs
Bowe simply cannot be stopped, so don’t you dare go thinking that Champ Bailey will somehow figure it all out after getting burned for 13 catches, 186 yards and two TDs the last time they hooked up.
Chris Chambers (WR Week 13 Ranking: Not ranked)
2010 Season: 13 receptions for 122 yards and one TD
Chambers has 13 catches in nine games this year. Need I say more?
Dexter McCluster (WR Week 13 Ranking: Not ranked)
2010 Season: 15 receptions for 147 yards and one TD
McCluster may be back out on the field, but he hasn’t been worth using since, well, college.
Tony Moeaki (TE Week 13 Ranking: No. 12)
2010 Season: 32 receptions for 384 yards and three TDs
Moeaki caught just one pass in his return last week, but that one catch happened to go for a TD. Expect more out of him in this one as the Donkeys allow the third-most fantasy points to tight ends this year.
