Chicago Bears: Jerry Angelo's Worst Draft Choices
In 2009 the Chicago Bears gave up two first round draft choices and Kyle Orton to land Jay Cutler.
Many people couldn't believe a team would give up that much.
But what most people don't know, and what many in Chicago do know, is that the Bears' ability to draft is suspect.
If Jerry Angelo has proved one thing as Chicago Bears General Manager, it's that his draft choices have been, well, umm. How about this, let's take a look at some of his most infamous choices and like my favorite unbiased news show: You Decide.
Michael Haynes (DE) 2003 1st Round
1 of 5
The first pick in 2003, he racked up 5.5 sacks in three seasons.
Cedric Benson (RB) 1st Round 2006
2 of 5
Fourth overall in 2005 even with a solid running back in Thomas Jones in place.
Held out all of training camp.
Was injured in training camp.
Injured in the super bowl.
Found his stride in Cincinnati after realizing that working for a living wasn't worth it.
Mark Bradley (WR)
3 of 5
Frequently injured college player, he caught 38 catches in three seasons with the Bears.
Dan Bazuin (DE)
4 of 5
Second round pick in 2007.
I don't remember him either.
Check out his career stats on nfl.com.
He'd have an awesome E.R.A
Dusty Dvoracek (DT)
5 of 5
Injured in his first professional game in 2007.
Placed on IR his second season.
Sprained his MCL during the preseason in his third season.
If only he showed signs of being injury prone in college...Seriously, do the Bears have scouts?
