Marian Gaborik, New York Rangers, Suffering From Cold Feet in Fantasy NHL Week 9

Brandon GalvinDec 2, 2010

As usual, slumping superstars suffer from cold feet, freezing up on their owners.

Marian Gaborik, Chris Pronger and Jason Spezza all disappointed this week.

Two players from last week’s "Hot List" suddenly end up on the Cold front, but who?

Did Ilya Kovalchuk make the list again or was he given the week off to drown in his underachieving sorrows?

Ilya Bryzgalov, Phoenix Coyotes Goalie

Bryzgalov had an outstanding week last week and ended up on the Hot List.

He has zero wins this week and a terrible 4.04 goal average against with only a .830 save percentage.

In his past two starts, he has given up eight goals.

Bryzgalov is one of the better fantasy goalies in the game and needs to stay in fantasy lineups despite the slump.

Chris Pronger, Philadelphia Flyers Defenseman

Pronger is one of the best defenseman in the game.

Too bad it didn’t translate for his fantasy owners this week.

Pronger has zero goals and zero assists with five shots on goal.

Even worse, Pronger is -3.

Most likely fantasy owners just need to ride this bumpy wave and wait for Pronger to turn things around.

Jason Spezza, Ottawa Senators Center

Spezza fell off last season after three consecutive years with at least 30 goals scored.

Spezza continues to decline.

This week Spezza has taken 10 shots on goal and has nothing to show for it.

He has zero goals and assists this week while finishing -2.

A fantasy owner’s best bet at the moment is to keep Spezza on their bench.

A week after making the Hot List, Rick Nash ends up on the Cold List during a terrible slump.

Although Nash has one assist, he has zero goals on nine shot attempts and he is -1.

This was expected after scoring five goals last week.

His shot attempts were cut in half and should increase next week.

Marian Gaborik, New York Rangers Wing

Gaborik is usually a great fantasy player, but he is in a major slump this week.

He does have one shot on goal this week but has only taken four shots for some reason. He has zero assists and is -1.

Gaborik needs to pick up the pace for the Rangers as they will only go as far as he can take them.
