NFL Week 13 Fantasy Football: Start Eli Manning, Sit Carson Palmer

Adam SpencerDec 2, 2010

Remember the huge fantasy day Michael Vick had a couple weeks ago? Look for him to have another huge game tonight against the Houston Texans.

Speaking of huge days, Dwayne Bowe had a big game against the Seattle Seahawks last week, racking up 35 points.

That put my Week 12 advice at a grand total of +12 points, bringing my season total to -3 points.

I'll try to keep the good advice coming this week, starting with the quarterback position.

QBs: Start Eli Manning

While it's true that Steve Smith and Hakeem Nicks are probably not going to play this weekend, Manning is still capable of putting up some big numbers.

Especially against a Washington Redskins defense that is just awful defending the pass.

Look for Eli to have a big game throwing to Mario Manningham and Kevin Boss.

QBs: Sit Carson Palmer

The New Orleans Saints are coming to Cincinnati on Sunday, and that spells trouble for Carson Palmer and the Bengals.

The Saints allow under 200 yards per game through the air and have allowed only seven touchdown passes all year.

That doesn't bode well for Palmer, Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco.

RBs: Start Steven Jackson

SAN FRANCISCO - NOVEMBER 14: Steven Jackson #39 of the St. Louis Rams in action against the San Francisco 49ers at Candlestick Park on November 14, 2010 in San Francisco, California. (Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images)

Steven Jackson hasn't been as productive as he normally is these past couple weeks.

Expect that to change this week against the Arizona Cardinals and their horrible run defense.

He'll get back to his touchdown scoring ways this weekend.

RBs: Sit Darren McFadden

McFadden hasn't had a double digit fantasy day in the last four weeks.

He'll make it five when he posts another single digit day this weekend against the San Diego Chargers.

The Chargers boast the third best run defense in the NFL, allowing just over 80 yards per game.

WRs: Start Brandon Lloyd

DENVER - NOVEMBER 28: A pass from Kyle Orton slips through the fingertips of wide receiver Brandon Lloyd #84 of the Denver Broncos during the fourth quarter against the St. Louis Rams at INVESCO Field at Mile High on November 28, 2010 in Denver, Colorado

Brandon Lloyd had 90 yards and two touchdowns the last time the Denver Broncos played the Kansas City Chiefs.

I don't expect anything to change this time around.

Lloyd might have one less touchdown, but he'll still be a valuable receiver this week and should be in your starting lineup.

WRs: Sit Anquan Boldin

6 of 8
ATLANTA - NOVEMBER 11: Anquan Boldin #81 of the Baltimore Ravens against the Atlanta Falcons at Georgia Dome on November 11, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

Boldin has been frustratingly inconsistent all year long for his fantasy owners.

This week though, he'll have a predictable game. Unfortunately, it's going to be a bad game.

He's going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and we all know how well they shut down their opponents passing game.

TEs: Start Marcedes Lewis

Marcedes Lewis struggled the last time the Jacksonville Jaguars played the Tennessee Titans.

This time around though, expect different results.

David Garrard is playing pretty well the past couple weeks and the Jags are in the midst of a playoff run. He'll be looking for Lewis in the red zone this weekend.

TEs: Sit Brandon Pettigrew

8 of 8
GREEN BAY, WI - OCTOBER 03: Brandon Pettigrew #84 of the Detroit Lions runs after a catch against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on October 3, 2010 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers defeated the Lions 28-26. (Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty Imag

Brandon Pettigrew has been very consistent all year. Fantasy owners can expect five-eight points every time he takes the field.

But, this week, the Lions will be playing the Chicago Bears, and Pettigrew will be shut down by the Bears strong linebacking corps.

He'll post well below his average this weekend.
