Fantasy Football: Ben Obomanu and the Waiver Wire Must-Haves of Week 13
With the fantasy playoffs around the corner, it would be wise to evaluate your squad and fix the holes in your roster immediately.
There are still some very talented players, such as Sam Bradford, Deion Branch and Ben Obomanu, that remain on the waiver-wire's in many league's.
A key pick-up in Week 13 could just be that extra push that your team needs to become Fantasy Football League Champions.
Add the following players to your roster where needed...
RB Maurice Morris, Detroit Lions
1 of 8
Last Week's Performance:
Nine Attempts for 55 Yards and Two Touchdowns; Five Receptions for 20 Yards
Maurice Morris has quietly been in the NFL for nine years, but had a big game against New England this past Sunday. Prior to this match-up, Morris only recorded seven touchdowns throughout his entire career.
So far this season rookie Jahvid Best hasn't had quite the dominant impact the Lions would have hoped. After the big performance against the Patriots, you can expect Maurice to start receiving more touches.
Week 13 Opponent:
Vs. Chicago Bears (8-3)
WR Deion Branch, New England Patriots
2 of 8
Last Week's Performance:
Three Receptions for 113 Yards and Two Touchdowns
Deion Branch had his best game of the season in Week 12 against the Detroit Lions. He will now attempt to continue that dominance into this week's match-up against the New York Jets.
In what is expected to be a thrilling Monday Night battle, don't be surprised if Deion Branch comes away with another two-touchdown game.
Week 13 Opponent:
Vs. New York Jets (9-2)
WR Jordy Nelson, Green Bay Packers
3 of 8
Last Week's Performance:
Five Receptions for 61 Yards and One Touchdown
Jordy Nelson recorded his first touchdown this season against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12, which was only the fifth touchdown of his three-year career.
Only owned by 0.9% of fantasy football teams, Nelson is available in nearly every single league. Sure the Packers have a ton of talented receivers, but Jordy Nelson's game has continued to progress this season.
Week 13 Opponent:
Vs. San Francisco (4-7)
TE Kevin Boss, New York Giants
4 of 8
Last Week's Performance:
Three Receptions for 74 Yards and One Touchdown
Kevin Boss has been excellent of late, scoring a touchdown in three of his last four games. With some big divisional games ahead, expect Boss to continue to be a a touchdown target for Eli Manning.
After one of his best performances of the season in Week 13, Boss should have another big game against New York's NFC division rival, the Washington Redskins. The Redskins have the 29th overall passing defense, allowing an average of 269.4 YPG, so a big game is in order for Kevin Boss and the New York Giants.
Week 13 Opponent:
Vs. Washington Redskins (5-6)
WR Earl Bennett, Chicago Bears
5 of 8
Last Week's Performance:
Four Receptions for 56 Yards and Two Touchdowns
Earl Bennett is a rising young receiver for the Chicago Bears, who has begun to have an increased impact in this offense scoring three touchdowns in the his last four games.
In Week 13 Bennett and the Bears will be taking on the Detroit Lions who have lost their last four games. In those last four games, the Lions have given up an average of 29.25 PPG.
Expect Bennett to have another multiple touchdown performance.
Week 13 Opponent:
@ Detroit Lions (2-9)
WR Ben Obomanu, Seattle Seahawks
6 of 8
Last Week's Performance:
Five Receptions for 159 Yards and One Touchdown
Ben Obomanu has really began to make a name for himself in the past few weeks, scoring three touchdowns in his last four games.
In last week's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Obomanu had the best performance of his career showing that he can be a playmaker in this offense. In Week 13, against the NFL's worst team, the Carolina Panthers, Ben Obomanu is highly likely to have another outstanding outing.
Week 13 Opponent:
Vs. Carolina Panthers
WR Derrick Mason, Baltimore Ravens
7 of 8
Last Week's Performance:
Eight Receptions for 87 Yards and a Touchdown
So far this season Derrick Mason has put up similar numbers to Anquan Boldin, but is still available in over 30% of Fantasy Football League's.
Mason has proven to be a trusted target of Joe Flacco, who seems to get better and better as the season progresses. In a big divisional game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Derrick Mason will record the fourth touchdown in his last five games.
Week 13 Opponent:
Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-3)
QB Sam Bradford, St. Louis Rams
8 of 8
Last Week's Performance:
22-37 for 308 Yards and Three Touchdowns
The rookie out of Oklahoma had the best game of his very young career, leading the St. Louis Rams to a 36-33 victory over the Denver Broncos. Sam Bradford recorded an impressive 24.22 points for his fantasy owners in Week 12, with another big performance expected to come against the Arizona Cardinals.
Against one of the worst defenses in the NFL this season, Bradford should have a field day in Week 13.
Only owned by 32.9% of fantasy football teams, Sam Bradford is the best available quarterback on the Waiver-Wire.
Week 13 Opponent:
@ Arizona Cardinals (3-8)
