Predictions for UFC 89
I'm here for more predictions.
Chris " Lights Out" Lytle vs. Paul "Relentless" Taylor. Lytle is a boxer with a record of 25-16-5. Most of his wins have come by submissions (figure that one out.), he holds notable victories over Kyle Bradley and Matt Brown. He's also fought top welterweights such as Matt Hughes, Matt Serra, Karo Paryisan, Shonie Carter and Josh Koscheck. He should keep this fight on the ground and submit Taylor. Taylor is a striker with a record of 9-3-1. He should stand-up and try for a KO against Lytle. I give this fight to Lytle by submission because he has a tonne of heart and won't quit.
Marcus "The Irish Hand Grenade" Davis vs. Paul "Tellies" Kelly. Davis is a boxer and has more wins by submissions and a record of 14-4. He holds notable wins over: Shonie Carter, Pete Spratt and Jess Liuadin. He should try to submit Kelly. Kelly is a vale tudo fighter with a record of 8-0. He should look to stand and bang with Davis and go for a KO. I give this fight to Davis by submission in round 2.
Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. Luis Cane. Sokoudjou is a kickboxer/judo fighter with a record of 5-2. His opponents include top notch fighters such as Lyoto Machida, Ricard Arona, and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. He should keep the fight standing. Cane is a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu fighter with a record of 8-1-1. He has more KO victories than submissions. He should go for submission against Sokodjou. I give this fight to Sokoudjou by KO in round 2.
Keith " The Dean of Mean" Jardine vs. Brandon " The Truth" Vera. Jardine is a striker with a record of 13-4-1. He has beaten: Forrest Griffin, Wilson Gouveia and Chuck Liddell. He should keep the fight standing and go for the KO. Vera is a well rounded fighter with a record of 9-2. He should go for the submissions on Jardine. I would lean more towards Vera for the victory just because he more well rounded that Jardine.
Lyoto " The Dragon" Machida vs. Thiago Silva. Machida is a well rounded fighter with a record of 13-0. He has beaten: Tito Ortiz, Stephan Bonnar, Rich Franklin, BJ Penn, Vernon White, and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou. He should be alright wherever the fight goes. Sliva is also a well rounded fighter with a record of 13-0. He hold notable wins over: James Irvin and Houston Alexander. He should also be okay anywhere the fight goes. This fight is pretty even, the fighter are pretty much identical and it's hard to chose a winner. I would go with Machida if I had to choose.
In the main event: Michael " The Count" Bisping vs. Chris "The Crippler" Leben. Bisping is a striker with a record of 16-1. He holds notable wins over: Elvis Sinosic, Matt Hamill. He should keep the fight standing and go for a KO. Leben is a wrestler/boxer with a record of 18-4. He has beaten: Mike Swick, Patrick Cote, Edwin DeWees, Jorge Rivera, and Luigi Fioravanti. He should go to the ground against Bisping. I give this fight to Bisping in round 2 by KO.
