Fantasy Football Week 12: Peyton Manning and the Week's Biggest Disappointments
This week in the NFL, there were some premier players who unexpectedly had miserable performances when compared to their usual standards.
Some of those players were Peyton Manning, Larry Fitzgerald and Chris Johnson.
Expect most of these players to bounce back in Week 13 after a very disappointing outing in the week prior.
RB Beanie Wells, Arizona Cardinals
1 of 6
Week 12 Stats
Five rushes for 13 yards; one reception for 43 yards
Week 12 Fantasy Points
Other than his one big catch, Beanie Wells didn't have a great performance. Wells is owned by 85.8 percent of fantasy users, and he upset nearly every single one of them by having an awful week, rushing for under 20 yards.
Next Game
Vs. St. Louis Rams
RB Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans
2 of 6
Week 12 Stats
Seven rushes for five yards; two receptions for two yards
Week 12 Fantasy Points
This was the worst performance of his impressive career. There's not much else to say except Chris Johnson didn't record ONE fantasy point in Week 12.
Next Game
Vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
WR Mike Wallace, Pittsburgh Steelers
3 of 6
Week 12 Stats
Three receptions for 33 yards
Week 12 Fantasy Points
After coming off three consecutive 100-plus-yard performances, Mike Wallace wasn't very effective in Week 12 against the Buffalo Bills. The Steelers won the game, but Wallace didn't play much of a factor.
Next Game
@ Baltimore Ravens
QB Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts
4 of 6
Week 12 Stats
31-of-48 for 285 Yards, two TDs and four INTs
Week 12 Fantasy Points
Peyton Manning had one of the worst performances of his career, throwing four interceptions for the first time since Week 9 of 2007, when he threw six interceptions against the Chargers. San Diego seems to have Peyton's number.
Next Game
Vs. Dallas Cowboys
WR Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals
5 of 6
Week 12 Stats
Four receptions for 37 yards
Week 12 Fantasy Points
Larry Fitzgerald hasn't been much of a fantasy football force this season, only having two productive games so far this year. With only five games remaining I would only start Fitzgerald in Week 15, when the Cardinals take on the 1-10 Carolina Panthers. Other than that, you might as well sit him on the bench instead of taking a risk.
Next Game
Vs. St. Louis Rams
WR DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles
6 of 6
Week 12 Stats
Two receptions for 26 yards; one rush for three yards
Week 12 Fantasy Points
This past week was one of Jackson's worst performances this season, struggling against the nasty defense of the Chicago Bears. He only has one multiple-touchdown game this season. Expect Jackson to finish off this season with dominance.
Next Game
Vs. Houston Texans
