Toronto Raptors Report for Week 5: Team Takes Huge Blow, Loses Reggie Evans

Sachin AroraNov 29, 2010

The Raptors had a tragic event occur this week. They lost their only legitimate rebounding and inside force, Reggie Evans.

They didn't fare too well this week, dropping two out of three games.

The first game of the week they faced the 76ers and blew them right out of the building.

The next game, the Raptors dropped a game on the road to the Celtics, which would have been expected, but the team put up a fight and forced the Celtics to play their starters for the majority of the game.

The final game of the week, the Raptors got blown-out by the Atlanta Hawks, and Jay Triano was not happy with the team's effort.

Record: 1-2

Performance on a scale of 1-10: 6

Positives

Jerryd Bayless has shown that he can be a solid point guard for now and the future, and Peja Stojakovic showed us that he can still shoot the ball very well.

The Raptors have shown their ability to beat the weaker teams in the league, and they have had a tough schedule so far, so look for them to improve.

Negatives

Andrea Bargnani has been great, but it seems that he disappears down the stretch when he's needed the most. The Raps also need more production out of their starters, and their offense hasn't looked too good.

Reggie Evans will be a huge blow to the team's rebounding, and I don't know if Joey Dorsey can pick up the slack.

Overall, not the best week for a Raptors fan. Hopefully the Raptors can get on track this week.

GO RAPS!
